Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls interested in trying out for our District Co-op Softball team! Per the IESA’s addendum, we can now have softball as a school sport this fall!! We are so excited to give students this opportunity to participate. Tryouts will be held this Tuesday, August 4th, Wednesday, August 5th, and Thursday, August 6th at Lawless Park on the corner of 11th & Black softball field from 5:30-7:00pm. All girls must bring a mask and a softball glove, and their own water bottles. Other equipment such as your own bat, helmet, etc.. may be brought as well but not required. We suggest not buying any new equipment for tryouts.
Other important information: At any point, softball could be terminated per the Governor’s orders if we move back phases, but we will continue to push forward and hope for the best! All social distancing guidelines will be followed, temperatures will be taken before the athlete leaves the parent's/guardian's vehicle, COVID questions will be asked, and sanitation protocol will be followed. If your daughter makes the team, a sports physical is needed for participation. There will be a short meeting held at the beginning of tryouts on Tuesday for all parents/guardians.
Remember that we are a co-op district softball team consisting of girls from all 7 middle schools. (LMS, WMS, JMS, FMS, GMS, Ball Charter and Iles) So feel free to let your friends know and Good Luck!!!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Serita Lott, athletic director at Lincoln Magnet School at email@example.com.
