Today students were excited to receive information about taking their laptop home. In order for students to have the privilege of taking home his/her laptop, the following requirements must be met.
1. Sign Springfield Public Schools District 186 Laptop Agreement:
This Agreement represents an outline of the Laptop Policies and Procedures. By signing this Agreement, students and parents/guardians agree to the follow the Policies and Procedures. Students and parents/guardians are required to read and understand these Policies and Procedures prior to signing this Agreement.
2. Sign Springfield School District No. 186 Equipment Use Agreement:
Students and parents/guardians agree to use the equipment in accordance with the terms and conditions in the agreement.
3. Attend Laptop Information Session:
Parents or guardians are required to attend a District 186 laptop information session. Laptop information sessions are designed and presented by District 186 technology staff. If you attended the meeting during sixth or seventh grade, you do not have to attend again.
4. Provide Proof of Insurance:
Your insurance company must confirm that the MacBook laptop is insured for full coverage for damage or theft during the school year. This proof must be in the form of a letter from your insurance company on the insurance company's letterhead and must include the policy effective and the policy expiration dates. Please do not bring your insurance policy for proof of insurance.
Seventh and Eighth Grade Students:
Students may take their computers home Friday, October 2nd if all of the above requirements are met by morning announcements on Thursday, October 1st.
Sixth Grade Students:
Students may take their computers home Friday, October 9th if all of the above requirements are met by morning announcements on Thursday, October 8th.
**A Laptop Information Session will be held Tuesday, October 6th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Lincoln Magnet School.
