Good morning, today is Tuesday, November 30th, and it is a B Day for everyone!

The Lincoln Magnet School Bookfair will be held on Sunday, December 5, at Barnes & Noble from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Please plan on attending.

Lincoln Magnet School Scholastic Bowl Team 2010 - 2011
Students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade may try out for the LMS Scholastic Bowl Team. Scholastic Bowl is a team competition very similar to "Team Jeopardy." Teams participate in a quiz competition including questions in the categories of math, science, history, literature, sports, geography, economics and current events. Students who are interested in participating should have a quick recall of facts as well as a strong academic background in a variety of subject areas. Tryouts for this team take place over two weeks of Thursday after school sessions 2:30 – 4:00. Students must provide written Parent permission to participate in order to be considered for the team. This year, no more than 15 students will be placed on the team.

The following are taken into consideration when choosing the team members:

Written Test, Buzzer response Test, Attendance at Tryout sessions

Teamwork, Behavior, School Attendance, Grades (eligibility) and teacher recommendation based on classroom performance (behavior and participation).

Students that were previously on the LMS Scholastic Bowl Team will NOT automatically be part of this year’s team! ALL students MUST try out!!!!

Please plan to attend BOTH 2010 – 2011 Tryout Sessions:
Thursday, December 2nd 2:30 – 4:00
Thursday, December 9th 2:30 – 4:00

Team practices will be on Thursdays 2:30 – 4:00 January 13, 20 & 27.

Meets will be every Thursday after school starting the first week of February and going through the end of April.

6th grade volleyball final tryout 5:30-7:30 pm (students will need their own ride to and from tryouts)

6th grade boys BB practice 5:30-7:30 @ LMS

7th & 8th Boys BB @ St. Agnes 6:00 pm

7th & 8th volleyball tryouts (Day 2) 3:30-5:30 pm @ Ball Charter ( a bus will transport LMS students to Ball Charter, but students will need a ride home)

IMSA Webinar- Eve Poynter, Aquarist with the Shedd Aquarium, will share information about her role at the Aquarium.
