Good morning, today is Wednesday, March 21, and it is a B day.

Track Practice Schedule:

Wednesday, March 21: Mandatory Practice for 6TH/7TH BOYS AND GIRLS at SE. Runners and jumpers only.

Thursday, March 22: Mandatory Practice for ALL FIELD EVENTS at SE.

Field events include shot put, discus, high jump and long jump.

Our first meet is March 29. All sports physicals, contracts, and fees must be turned in before an athlete may compete.
Competitors list will be posted on March 27.

The LMS PTO will be hosting Extreme Bowling on Friday, March 23rd, from 7:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. at Strike and Spare West. The cost is $15 and includes unlimited bowling and shoe rental.
You can sign up for a lane near your friends at lunch on the 21st!!
Bring your friends the more the better!
Parents will also be selling baked items so bring some extra money for a sweet treat!
If you would like to make a donation for the bake sale you may drop your items off at LMS Friday before 3:30 or bring them to the event.

Lincoln Magnet School will be hosting a Family Health Fair on Thursday, March 22nd from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The fair is designed to educate students, teachers and families through a variety of interactive, hands-on activities. * We will be holding student and adult drawings every 30 minutes for prizes.

The Family Health Fair teaches parents and students invaluable lessons about health and wellness and reinforces lessons learned through follow-up student activities and parent education. Research shows children achieve optimal learning through interactive education followed by personal and parental reinforcement.
The Family Health Fair includes:
Adult Activities
• Demonstration booth staffed by a genH physician or nutrition expert. This station reveals the actual sugar and fat content of many popular food items.

• Cooking Demonstration: Participants have the opportunity to see a live cooking demonstration with a Lincoln Land Community College professional chef. Participants will receive a sample, recipes and healthy snack lists.
• Health Screenings: St. John’s Hospital offers participants $150 of free screenings to include blood glucose testing, cholesterol screening (to include Total Cholesterol, HDL ‘good’ Cholesterol, HDL/Total Cholesterol Ratio), body mass index and blood pressure.
Student Activities (student activities are staffed by teachers and health care professionals)
• Active fun for the students with their PE and Health Teachers. Activities will be organized for the students in the gym. (or outside if weather permits).
• St. John’s Hospital AthletiCare provide booths focused on nutrition, smoking prevention and physical activity. These booths include games and activities.
World Water Day
• Sixth grade students have created recycled gift bags using their mathematical skills that will be for sale. The money collected will be used to support their Change for Change Project.
• LMS Tumblers will be for sale, encouraging families to reuse their tumbler rather than a water bottle. The students have statistics they will be sharing to support the Global Water Crisis!
• Please stop by our Global Water Crisis section to learn more about this exciting project, see the students and teachers showcased on the Smithsonian Website and watch the students participate in a Water Challenge.
