Good morning! Today is Friday, April 23rd, and it is an A Day for everyone!
Beta Club is sponsoring “Extreme Bowling” at Strike and Spare West on Sunday, April 25th from 7:00-9:00p.m. It is $15.00 for 2 hours of unlimited bowling. There will also be a bake sale. Please see our website for more details. Please sign up at lunch today if you think you are going to attend. We are trying to see approximately how many lanes we will need.
Our district promising practice is to increase the amount of time every student is reading in school each day. The number of books our school library checked out increased from 2008 (5,338 books) to 2009 (9,519 books). We are hoping to reach a goal of 10,000 books checked out this year! So far in 2010, our students have checked out 7,663 books. It is an ambitious goal but we know we can do it. If you have a book you would like to recommend to others on announcements please see Mrs. Erickson.
ATTENTION 8th Grade Students:
Lincoln Land Community College is offering a scholarship, which is good for two years worth of tuition. Students interested in applying for the Lincoln Land scholarship need to respond to three essay questions. They are posted on our main webpage or you can pick a copy up on the activity table.
Summer School registration forms are on the activity table. Classes are open to incoming 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. Many students want to get a jumpstart for next year or build confidence becoming familiar with concepts they will soon be learning. A bonus for incoming 9th graders is the opportunity to take elective classes for high school credit. The forms and money must be turned in by June 11th. Please pick up a registration form from the activity table for more details.
