ISAT testing begins next week. In an effort to provide the best testing environment for our students, we are again asking for donations of snacks to give our students during the day.
Several parents have asked about alternative snacks for students with braces or food allergies. Here is a list of snacks that we are seeking however you are welcome to send additional.

Bags of individually wrapped mints
Boxes of individually wrapped trail mix
Boxes of individually wrapped granola bars
Boxes of individually wrapped Raisins
Boxes of individually wrapped crackers with cheese
If you are able to donate any of these items please send it to the main office. The students and staff appreciate your generosity!
Springfield High School will be hosting an Activities Night on Thursday, March 11, 2010. There will be a brief overview by the Athletic Director, Gary Dorr, in the Auditorium at 7 PM. Parents and students will then meet with coaches and sponsors of all of our Activities and Clubs in the commons.
The SHS Booster Club will be selling Spirit and Pride Merchandise. This is a very informative meeting for students and parents to learn more about school activities and talk to players and coaches. They look forward to meeting you on the evening of March 10th.
Our track and field season begins next week. Practices for returning team members will be next Tuesday and Thursday. 6th grade athletes and other athletes who were not on the team last year should plan to practice on Wednesday. It is important that all interested athletes come to these practice sessions. In addition, if you are planning to run track and are unsure if you have turned in a physical and/or athletic permit card, please check with Mrs. Erickson.
The Springfield Kiwanis Club along with Springfield Chess Club and Trinity Lutheran are hosting a free chess tournament open to students in grades K-8. It will be held at Trinity Lutheran School on Friday, March 16th from 5:30-9:30p.m. There are informational flyers on the activity table for more details.
There is no school on Monday, March 1st in honor of Pulaski Day, however we would like to wish our 7th grade girls good luck as they play their first regional game in Quincy at 6:00. Please see our website for more details.
