Good morning! Today is Tuesday, October 20th, and it is an A Day for everyone!

Red Ribbon Week continues today. Red Ribbon Week is a time devoted to creating a healthy, drug free future for America. Help celebrate being drug free each day this week by:

Tuesday-Use your Head, Don’t Do Drugs—
Donate your nickels and join in on crazy hair day!

Wednesday-Drugs Turn You EDISNI Out!—
Donate your dimes and wear your clothes inside out.

Thursday-Give Drugs the Slip—
Donate your quarters and wear your slippers.

Friday-Wear red to show being DRUG FREE is our responsibility—Donate your dollars and wear red!!

All money will be donated to the United Way. The grade level that collects the most money will receive a special surprise.

Parent/Teacher Conferences:
This year October 30th will be used as a full day for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Additionally, each school will hold conferences on October 29th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please call the office at 525-3236 between October 19th - October 23rd to set up your appointment.
Each school strives to have one hundred percent participation from their parents. Please make every effort to attend your child’s conference. All student report cards will be distributed during parent/teacher conferences. Additional information can be found on our homepage.

Mini-Cheerleading Tryouts:
There are a few openings on the cheerleading team. If you are a 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for cheerleading, please sign up outside of Mrs. Erickson’s door. The tryout will be this Thursday, October 22nd at Lincoln from 5-6:00p.m. It will consist of learning a couple of sideline cheers and different jumps.

IMSA will have their first field trip of the year to the Science Center on Wednesday. Make sure you have your permission slip turned in so you don’t miss out!

Jazz Band is CANCELLED this Wednesday due to so many students being on the IMSA field trip.

BETA Club’s first meeting of the year is Thursday, October 22nd in the cafeteria. This is for students who were a part of BETA last year. If you plan to run for office, please sign up on Mrs. Meuth’s door by Oct. 21st.

Girls on Track will join WMS in running a 5K at Memorial Stadium on Thursday. The event is not a race, but a celebration of the group celebrating accomplishing a challenging goal. We are very proud of you girls!

Boys’ Basketball Tryouts for 7th and 8th grade continue today at Ball Charter. They are Monday-Wednesday. The 7th grade is from 5-6:30 and the 8th grade is from 6:30-8:30. It is expected for the boys to attend each day. If you have to miss a day please let the coach know why. Good luck boys!!

Mark your Calendars…

The famous LMS Fall Dance will be held on Friday, October 23rd from 6:30-8:00 at Lincoln Magnet. Cost will be $5.00 at the door. This is a PTO sponsored event and they will provide snacks, refreshments and pizza.
Also, the Southeast Art Club will be transforming our top floor into a haunted house.

Parents, we are asking for donations of 2 liter bottles of soda and cookies. If you are able to donate, please send them to school by Thursday, October 22nd .
