Today is Monday, May 4th, and it is a B Day for everyone!

Congratulations to the Lincoln Magnet School Scholastic Bowl team who won the regional tournament in Mount Zion last Wednesday! They will go on to play in the sectional tournament in Petersburg on Monday, May 4th. We wish them good luck!

The 8th grade students are practicing hard on their dances, poems and songs for tomorrow's night's Harlem Renaissance. They will be performing at 7:00 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Please come and enjoy the show!

We are closely monitoring the recent Swine Flu Outbreak across the country and will be in communication with information as it becomes available. At this point there is no cause for alarm, as there are no confirmed cases in Illinois. Staff and students can do their part to take precautions:

The CDC recommends:

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

Cell phones are to be used in the main office before school, at lunch, or after school Phones should not be visible or heard except when they are being used in the main office.
