Today is Thursday, February 19th, and it is an A Day.

Parents, we are again addressing the guidelines for cell phone usage. Phones are to be TURNED OFF and CONCEALED during the day. They may only be used before school, at lunch, or after school IN THE MAIN OFFICE. They are not to be used on the bus. If a phone is seen by a staff member during the day (whether or not it is being used), it will be confiscated. The first offense, a parent must pick up the phone. The second offense will be a day of In House. If you need to contact your child during the day, please call the main office (525-3236).

Congratulations to Molly C., who has been selected to have her art work displayed at the Board Office at 1900 West Monroe! Molly and her work, along with art teacher Mrs. VG, will be recognized at a reception on March 12th at Grant Middle School.

Applications for the Math and Science Academy at Southeast are due on Friday, February 20th.

All registration forms are due back NOW! Please send them in to ensure that your student gets the classes they want.

There are several opportunities on Mrs. Heyen's table in the hallway. Some are offered by the high schools (cheerleading clinics), the Illinois State Museum, and UIS. Please stop by the table and take advantage of these activities.

CORRECTION: Yearbook team and activity pictures have been rescheduled for this Thursday, February 26th. Students who wish to purchase a team picture need to get a form from Mrs. Heyen's table, and bring a check to cover the package price. Students should wear their T-shirt or uniform, if they have it (Band, 6th grade sports, current teams, cheerleaders, etc.). Cross Country will dress in regular clothes, or may wear Spirit Wear.
