Thursday Announcements

May 23, 2007

Today is Thursday, May 24 and it is an A day.

We will have the 7th annual Talent Show on Tuesday, June 5th from 8:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. That is our last day of school, and we feel tht this will be a fun and positive way to end the year. Try-outs will be on Friday, May 25th from 2:30-4:00. Our talent show is not a contest, but a celebration of talent. We are always amazed by the variety and level of talent at LMS!

Would you like to keep some of the wonderful projects that the 6th graders have created this year with their laptops? We will be selling CD's for the students to burn their music and projects on. They will cost $1.00 each, and we will burn them next week.

Because the district used emergency days during the school year, the following is an updated list of early dismissal and last attendance days:

Traditional Calendar Schools:
May 21 -25 regular schedule (no early dismissal days)
May 28 No School for Memorial Day holiday
May 31, June 1 and 4 60-minute early dismissal
June 5 Last day of school - 90-minute duration

The 8th grade Panaromaic picture is ready! We have extra copies available for $20.00.

Tonight, Thursday, May 24th, is Honor's Night at Southeast High School. We had to hold it there because of the number of students that we want to honor! If you received an invitation in the mail, your student will be receiving some type of award. If you did not receive an invitation and feel that your child would qualify for Honor Roll or perfect attendance, please call to check.

The First Day Fund is designed to help students meet with academic success by providing essential school supplies. We are sending home forms for the First Day Fund which can be used as applications for your child, or for your involvement with the program. You may help by providing supplies, or help physically when the supplies need to be collected and packaged. Forms are due on Friday, May 18th.

There will be no more charges allowed. 8th graders must have charges paid up before the end of the year. They will not be able to start high school with a negative balance in their account.

Summer school forms are available in the office. There are many classes offered, including computer training! Please call to request a form, as we have a limited supply.

Students, a special summer opportunity that you may want to explore is Indiana University Pathfinders 2007 summer program for information and an application. Here is the website:
