Today is Thursday, March 1st, and it is an A day.
There will be no Math instruction for 7th grade tonight.
The 7th and 8th grade students enjoyed storyteller Brian Fox Ellis yesterday. "Fox" shared stories about Abraham Lincoln's childhood, and many quotes from his adult life. He spent the afternoon working with 7th grade students on data-based questions. It was an enriching experience for the students. We hope to invite Mr. Fox to enhance our History Fair project next year!
Have an interest in Science and Math? There is a wonderful opportunity for girls who have those interests. Expanding Your Horizens in Math and Science will be held on Saturday, March 10th. Brochures will be on Mrs. Heyen's table. Scholarships are available.
Several of our students were invited to present their views on using technology in the classrooms to legislators this afternoon. The One-to-One technology grant is up for appraisal, and Lt. Governor Pat Quinn knows that students are the key to sharing the success of grant renewal.
This Friday, March 2nd, students will have an 11:00 dismissal so that teachers can attend Professional Development. Teachers will spend the afternoon working on plans, and looking at student acheivement.
Monday, March 5th is a day off for teachers and students. It is Casimir Pulaski's birthday.
If you are a 6th grade parent, save March 13 for parent training on the laptops! We will have a session on internet safety, and other important training. This training is mandatory before your student can take his/her laptop home. The sessions will start at 6:00 and end at 8:00, here at LMS.
