You are cordially invited to attend a Harlem Renaissance Celebration on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 7:00 p.m. at Springfield High School, 101 S. Lewis St. Auditorium doors will not open until 6:50. Please wait in the lobby.
Eighth graders will share dances from the time period, along with music, poetry, and commercials.
Mrs. Grace Nanavati, Artist in Residency, has worked very hard with our students to teach them dances from the Harlem Renaissance and the history behind these dances!
Students are proud to share all they have learned during this fourth quarter thematic unit, and it’s sure to be an entertaining evening!

April 25th - All costume pieces need to be at school
April 26th - Performance at Springfield High @ 7 PM
Costume Pieces: Girls will need to have a black cami, black gym shorts, and black shoes they can dance in.
Dresses will be provided by Mrs. Nanavati. Dresses will stay at school and will not be allowed to be taken home.
Boys will need black pants, white button up dress shirt, and black shoes.
Ties and cummerbunds will be provided by Mrs. Nanavati.
All costume pieces will need to be at school for the dress rehearsal on April 25th.
Girls who are in “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” need khaki bottoms (shorts, skirt, capris, long pants, etc.) and a white shirt. We will provide the hats.
