Welcome Back! The school year is just around the corner, and we hope that you have had a wonderful summer and are excited about the upcoming school year.
Incoming Leopards: Sixth Grade Families, Please be on the look out for your Welcome to LMS email and school information that should be arriving this week. Information was also sent to your elementary school in May.
Student Schedules: Student schedules are being created and teachers are excited to welcome their new students. Schedules will be handed out on the first day for 7th and 8th grade and at 6th grade orientation for our new students.
Online Registration: Since all students have completed the course request process all that is left is online registration. ALL LMS students must complete the Online Registration each year. It is a quick and easy process. You can register from a device anywhere with internet access; i.e., computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. Have siblings in the district? You can register all of your students at one time!
LMS students can be registered at home, LMS or any Elementary Registration or High School Registration.
If you do not have a device at home to register and would like to come to LMS to register please contact the main office starting July 29th to reserve a time on August 6th or 7th.

Heath Records: If you have Physicals or any health records that need to be turned in you can bring them to LMS any day 7:45 - 2:30. You can also bring them to 6th grade orientation or on the first day of school. Reminder: All students entering 6th grade and those new to Springfield Public Schools must provide proof of a physical exam completed by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant by the first day of school. An updated immunization record and dental exam is also required. Students failing to provide all mandatory health information will be excluded on the 10th day of school and will not be allowed to return until all required records are received in the school office.
Bus Lists: LMS Bus Lists and times have been posted on the LMS Website. Please take a moment to review the information so that your child has the information they need to travel to and from school. Also, please take a moment to review the bus list to make sure that there is a stop that is near your home. Several stops are the same but a few of the bus numbers have changed. If you have any questions or need to request a change, please feel free to contact our main office.
Supply Lists: The LMS school supply list is posted on the website and Spirit Wear will be available at LMS the week prior to school starting from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and at Meet the Teacher night.
LMS Laptop Information: All LMS students will need to provide proof of insurance in order to take their laptop home. Worth Group provides LMS with a discounted rate and no deductable.. Homeowners/Renters insurance is also an option.
Sixth Grade Orientation: August 8th will be the incoming 6th grade orientation. Students are encouraged to ride their morning bus at the regular time. The orientation will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This is a time for 6th grade students to meet their new teachers, new friends, tour the building, and practice their locker combinations! Buses will be running and the routes are included on the right side of the article.

Meet The Teachers : We would also like to invite you to the “Meet the Teachers” night Thursday, August 22nd from 6:00-7:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to visit each of your child’s classes and meet their teachers.
* Please note there will be a 6th grade parent technology meeting offered Thursday, August 22nd from 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. prior to the Meet The Teachers. This training is mandatory for the student to use the laptop at school as well as take the laptop home. If you are not able to attend on this evening please join us Friday August 23rd from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. or at lunch August 30th from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to learn more about the computers, internet safety and to allow students to take their laptops home.
* 8th Grade Families are invited to attend a History Fair Parent Meeting from 5:15 - 6:00 to learn more about the 8th grade HF project and see examples. This is very informatove for the parents as well as the students.
Need to bring in paperwork? Laptop Insurance, Residency Forms, Health Records, etc... No problem. Stop by LMS anytime beginning July 29th between 7:45 and 2:30 and we can help collect forms and get them to the correct location.
