McClernand Virtual Family Literacy Night

Feb 9, 2021 Last night was our first ever virtual family night and it was a great success!!! There were 123 people present from 32 family homes. 22 McClernand teachers and staff were joined by 48 parents and 42 McClernand students with 20 of their siblings.

McClernand Device Rollout

Apr 2, 2020 Today was the device pickup for McClernand School from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We handed out ipads to 123 out of 183 students. 67% of the students picked up their iPads for learning at home!  We will be having another distribution tomorrow on Friday, April 3 from 11:00-1:00 p.m.

McClernand Gingerbread Math Night

Feb 4, 2020 McClernand families participated in a Gingerbread Math Night on February 4, 2020, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. After a light dinner, families worked on constructing gingerbread houses. Different math strategies and skills were practiced at different grade levels.

Dec 9, 2019 SIU and Minds in Motion provided tennis shoes for 45 students today. We are so thankful for our community parterships and their generosity. Our students were so grateful.

McClernand Open House 2019-2020

Aug 22, 2019 McClernand families attended Open House at McClernand on August 22, 2019 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. They visited in classrooms with teachers, ate dinner, and gained information about the federal Title I program. It was a well attended event.

May 21, 2019 Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. Each classroom teacher nominates one student from their class that shows TERRIFIC actions.
