A welcome adjustment to our in-person school schedule occurs next week and I couldn’t be more excited! The A/B hybrid schedule ends on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Beginning Tuesday, April 6 students will return four days a week (Tuesday-Friday) in-person.
The hours of the school day remains the same 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students may arrive beginning at 8:40 a.m. for early arrival and breakfast. Students will continue to enter through separate doors, with the K-2 students entering through the Percy Street doors and the students in grades 3-5 will enter on the 9thStreet side of the building. Mondays will continue to be an asynchronous day of learning where attendance is taken while the students work remotely. We continue to offer before and after school care with the SCOPE program as well as after school care with the Boys and Girls Club. Our increased safety protocols will continue for the remainder of the year. All individuals in the building are required to wear face masks.
I am excited about this opportunity and very excited to provide four days of continuous in-person support for the students for the final quarter of this school year. Parents, I greatly appreciate all the additional support you have provided to your child(ren) during the remote days. I appreciate the admirable challenges and sacrifices you have made to maintain your child’s academic success. This in-person programming eliminates the need for zoom sessions while creating much needed space for the authentic learning of support in-person, which has been successful for many generations. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
