The Ministerial Alliance of Springfield and Vicinity held an essay contest focusing on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech. This essay contest was open to all students in Springfield and the vicinity. Three essay winners were selected for the elementary category.

Ridgely School was honored to be represented with two of the three essay contest reciepients. Both girls wrote powerful essays they shared with the entire school at an assembly on Friday and then were were recognized at the community ceremony on Sunday, January 16 at Union Baptist Church.
