Back To School Physical and Immunizations
All students entering a pre-k program, kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade and those new to Springfield Public Schools must provide proof of a physical exam completed by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant by the first day of school. An updated immunization record is also required. Students failing to provide all mandatory health information will be excluded September 7, 2021, and will not be allowed to return until all required records are received in the school office.
Children entering kindergarten, 2nd, 6th and 9th grade are required to have a dental exam. Students entering kindergarten and those new to Illinois schools are also required to have a vision exam.
All athletes must have an updated physical on file in order to be eligible to participate on an athletic team. Sports/Athletic Physicals are good for 1 calendar year + 30 days (395 days). Once expired, a new physical is required.

Khan Academy (khanacademy.org) provides students the opportunity to preview and practice the SAT (according to a personalized study plan). Practice questions are like those on the actual SAT that juniors will take at school in April. Click here to get started.
Absences and Early Dismissals -
On a day when a student is absent, parents are required to telephone the Attendance Office (525-3111) before 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. When absence of a predictable nature is to occur, parents are asked to notify the school in advance. Also when calling for an early dismissal please call at least an hour in advance to the attendance office at the 525-3111 number.
