REMINDER TO SENIOR GUYS: When you turn 18 you have 30 days to register with the Selective Service. It is easy and it is the law that you must register. Go to www.sss.gov - it takes just 2 minutes to register. You will not be eligible for federal loans or grants for college if you fail to register See Mrs. Povse in Guidance if you have questions.
Springfield Public Schools is inviting interested high school juniors to apply to become a Student School Board Member. The selected student will serve as the Student School Board Member for the 2010-2011 school year. More information is available in the main office.
Wednesday is the LAST day to order your yearbook at the $50 price. Put it on layaway by then and lock-in the $50 price. Any book ordered after that will be $60. Come to Mrs. Barkmeier’s room, after school to order your book.

Attention all students: The Luncheon Optimist Club of Springfield is announcing its local level of the Optimist International Oratory Contest, Sat., March 5. The topic is : If I were the leader of the free world, the first issue I would address would be......." Entry forms are due Feb. 5. Ebony Gems is having an informational meeting Monday, December 13 at 3:30 PM in room 160. If you are a female and exhibit leadership skills, we would like you to come and be informed.
Congratulations to the Speech Team on competing in their second tournament at Waterloo, where 13 high schools competed. Speech members Jack Zinnen and Onsi Kamel placed 3rd and 4th in the JV Finals in Impromptu. Onsi Kamel placed 4th in the Varsity Finals in Extemporaneous. In the previous tournament in Charleston, where 12 high schools competed, Zainab Jasim placed 7th in the JV Finals in Prose and Emily Waters and Ashley Pruitt placed 2nd in the JV Finals in Dramatic Duet Acting.
