Seniors: a new scholarship for students of GREEK heritage is now available from Mrs. Povse.

SIU-Edwardsville is holding an Open House for students interested in Nursing on Feb. 19 from 8-12. Pre-registration is advised. Register at www.siue.edu/nursing

AVANTI'S IS COMING, AVANTI'S IS COMING!! Want a cheap, delicious meal? Full Avanti's sandwich ONLY $6!! Too big, share it with a friend. Full Avanti's loaf of bread ONLY $3!! TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP! Purchase your tickets for a full Avanti's sandwich and or a full Avanti's loaf of bread through Friday from a German class student. Staff members can purchase tickets from Robert Telger or a German class student. Pick up your sandwiches and bread Thurs., February 3, during both lunch shifts and/or after school until 4pm in the Commons. There will be a limited number of extra sandwiches and bread available for purchase during lunch shifts on February 3. Alert your friends, family, and colleagues! Want to show that someone special that you care? Buy them a Valentine Carnation. Carnations will be sold in the commons before school and during both lunch shifts for only $1.00. We will be taking orders thru Feb 4. They will be delivered to students on Feb 10.

Be A Senator is sponsoring a Be A Senator Logo contest. Logos should be designed to work with any color background because the logos will be put on multiple items. The winner will receive a $50 check and a free t-shirt. All entries must be submitted no later than Jan 31st to Ms. Greco in room 106. Voting will be done in homeroom on Feb. 2nd.

Attention German Club! We will be showing the movie “Walking On Water” in room 250 right after school Tomorrow. Please see a German teacher for the parent permission form. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Hey Hey JSA! We are having a meeting Today. Come for food and fun and bring your friends!

Environmental Club is selling T-shirts for $10. Come to see the designs in Ms, Vanderleest’s room. You can pay her or Sara Tamizuddin. Everyone can buy on. Please support Environmental Club.

Attention Spanish Club members: Pick up a permission slip for free bowling on Friday, January 28th from any of the Spanish teachers today!

King & Queens! There will be a chess club meeting Wednesday, February 2nd after school in room 222. Chess Club, room 222, Wednesday, February 2nd.

The Class of 2012 will be taking orders for hoodies and sweatpants Today, Thursday, and Friday during both lunch shifts. Hoodies cost $20 and sweatpants cost $15. Payment is expected at time of order. See Mrs. Davis in room 363 or Ms. Barkmeier in room 370 if you should have any questions.

KFC Famous Bowls are BACK! The Senior Class will be selling famous bowls in the commons this Thursday during both lunch shifts. They are $5 each. Don’t wait for the Super Bowl – get your famous bowl this Thursday!

SHS Boys Swim won both the JV and Varsity City Meets last night. The JV meet score was SHS 122, SHG 57, Southeast 8. The Varsity score was 158 SHS to 118 SHG. Exceptional swims were by Jake Hamill and Weston Stephens in the 100 Fly, Brinton Wilkey in the 100 free, Bennett Stephens and Brandon Dhermy in the 100 breast, Ryan Aguirre in the 500 free and 200 free, Timothy Miller and Jordan Troeger in the 200 IM, Nick Davlantis and Jake Hamill in the 100 back, and Drew Duffy, Bryant McLafferty, Andrew Hill, and Seena Tabibi in the 100 free. Senior Sean Maher had his best six dive meet EVER. Congratulations to all of them!
