African-American seniors: The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is offering scholarships for those who are pursuing enrollment in an accredited college or university for fall. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse and must be postmarked by April 15.

Reminder to seniors: In order to ensure timely processing the McCourtney Foundation scholarship application is due to Mr. Crum Today.

HBCU Campus Tour Springfield Urban League is sponsoring a bus trip to the Historically Black Colleges and Universities during spring break, April 17-22nd. Cost is $450. For additional information or to sign up contact Candace Silas at 544-0548 Ext. 240

Join the Environmental Club by Choosing to Reuse. The Environmental Club is selling reusable lunch totes from the company Thirty-One. Choose from three different sizes and many different patterns and colors. See a member of the Environmental Club or Ms. Vander Leest in Room 510. Remember---CHOOSE TO REUSE!!!

SHS Trivia Night has been cancelled due to lack of participation.

Next year SHS will be offering classes in guitar and piano. Please see your guidance person if you are interested. If you have any questions please talk to Ms. Elmore or Mrs. Goldberg.

ATTENTION ALL SHS STUDENTS and STAFF: Be a Senator has a great opportunity for raising money for Springfield High. For every yellow cap we collect from PEPSI products, we receive 5 CENTS. We need your help. Please place all YELLOW CAPS in the white Pepsi barrels in the commons. We will be collecting the caps until April 30. Thanks for your help!

Join us on a magical journey somewhere over the rainbow for the SHS production of “The Wiz” on April 1 and 2 and 7:30 p.m. and April 3 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available in the main office. In other news...Weather services have reported very high winds today and perhaps a tornado. Be on the look out for debris and flying houses, especially in the area of the auditorium.

ATTENTION, CLASS OF 2014!!! Please keep those t-shirt/sweat pants orders coming!!! We have extended the order deadline until Wednesday, 3/30. If you DID NOT receive an order form in the last homeroom, come to the student support office (169) and get one. Also, they will be available in the main office and guidance office. DON'T MISS OUT!!

NHS members—please turn in your dues to Mrs. Ruedin today. NHS seniors—the next meeting will be Tuesday, March, 29, before or after school.

Spanish Club will be bowling after school today.

Best Friend Members come to a meeting today after school. Think spring and enjoy time with our Buddies today after school in Room 124. Come enjoy friendships and fun Friday after school with Best Friends.

Student council is hosting their annual senior citizens dinner on Wednesday March 30th. We need volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity to serve the community and receive NHS hours. Volunteers will serve three hours and must sign up or speak to miss Maloney by Monday the 28th. Sign ups are at miss Maloney's room, the NHS board, and in the main office.

Members of the Superintendent's Student Roundtable will meet on Monday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m. in the Board Room, 1900 West Monroe.

The Girls Varsity Soccer team improved to 5-1 with a 7-0 victory over Riverton. Bri Hickman, Kelsey Slaughter, Alex Carney, Haille Payne, Olivia Rosen, and Julia Rosen scored for the Senators. Amy Allison and Amanda Milburn were in goal for the shutout. The JV soccer team improved to 2-1 with a 7-0 victory as well over Riverton.
