Lunch visits do not require a pass. All scheduled times do need a pass from Guidance or from Mrs. Povse.

African-American seniors: The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is offering scholarships for those who are pursuing enrollment in an accredited college or university for fall. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse and must be postmarked by April 15.

African American Seniors: The Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation scholarship is now available. Deadline is May 1.

HBCU Campus Tour Springfield Urban League is sponsoring a bus trip to the Historically Black Colleges and Universities during spring break, April 17-22nd. Cost is $450. For additional information or to sign up contact Candace Silas at 544-0548 Ext. 240

Senior men going to University of Illinois, Urbana: The Psi Upsilon Scholarship for men who exhibit the highest moral, intellectual and social excellence is now available. $2000, $750, and $250 awards. Upload the application at www.illinipsiu.com before Sept. 19.

SENIORS: The Will to Win scholarship for seniors with ASTHMA, a 3.5 on 4. 0 GPA and who demonstrate outstanding performance and achievement in one of the following categories: performing arts, visual arts, community service, athletics or science is now available. $5000. Deadline is April 30.

There’s no place like home, or the SHS Schnirring Auditorium where you can see the “The Wiz” next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available in the main office ($5 for students, $8 for adults). And in other news... if anyone has located the tin man’s heart, please return it to the attendance office right away.

Seniors! If you missed the Graduation announcements delivered yesterday, Josten’s will be back this morning ONLY!!. Any remaining balance is due at this time.

ATTENTION ALL SHS STUDENTS and STAFF: Be a Senator has a great opportunity for raising money for Springfield High. For every yellow cap we collect from PEPSI products, we receive 5 CENTS. We need your help. Please place all YELLOW CAPS in the white Pepsi barrels in the commons. We will be collecting the caps until April 30. Thanks for your help!

A reminder that TEEN Parent As Teachers will meet with Ms. Valenti today during lunch in room 169.

Thursday is Redemption Day! If you have SHLotto cards that need to be redeemed, head to the commons during either lunch shift! Thank you for Being A Senator!

The boys track and field team competed in a triangular meet Wednesday night against Glenwood, and Taylorville. Event winners for SHS were: Peter Bremhorst in the high jump, Jordan Gary in the triple jump, Patrick Fitzgibbon in the 800 and James Torgerson in the shot put. The boys next compete Saturday at the Peoria High Open.

Congratulations to Springfield High’s Capital Area Career Center Students of the Month! Jalissa Patterson in Health Occupations 1, Kaylee Colclasure in Photography, Lakenzie Higgins in Early Childhood Care & Education, and Zach Kniss in Digital Radio/TV. These students were selected on the basis of above average qualities in such areas as ability, attitude, cooperation, initiative and strong work place skills. The students demonstrated respect with other students, teachers, and staff. They must have maintained a B average and good attendance.
