FOR STUDENTS WHO WILL BE SOPHOMORES OR JUNIORS NEXT FALL: Washington University, St. Louis is holding a "Road to College" program 2 times this summer, June 9 or July 26. The free conference will help you get started on the path to great college planning. See Mrs. Povse for details.
SENIORS: The Frontiers International Scholarship ($750) is now available with a quick turn around time as the deadline is May 13. Must show acceptance to college or university, show school and community involvement and write a one page narrative. See Mrs. Povse for application.
People interested in being on next year’s Yearbook staff, please pick up an application from Mrs. Barkmeier in room 370. Deadline is today.
Attention SHS students and staff: Check out the new Be A Senator shirt designs! t-shirts, hoodies, & sweatshirts can be ordered in red, black, white or pink. Order forms were handed out in homeroom this week, downloaded from the SHS website, or may be picked up in the attendance office. Orders and payment are due NO LATER than May 11th to Ms. Greco in room 106. Shirts will be delivered before exams.
Prom tickets will be sold during both lunch shifts in the commons. Tickets are $35 for a couple and $25 for a single. If you do not purchase your ticket in advance, you may only buy a singles ticket at the door for $30. Cash or checks made payable to SHS.
Springfield Band Parent Association will be sponsoring another Extreme Bowling night at Strike n Spare West tonight from 9:00 pm-11:00 pm. Cost is $15 for unlimited bowling for 2 hours and it does include shoes. T-shirts will be given away to the first 25 students. Gather your team and come join the fun!
Students interested in auditioning for one of the three choirs at SHS for next year need to sign up for an audition time ASAP. Auditions will be held next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after school from 3:30 till 6 PM. Audition sigh up sheets are on the outside of the choir room door. Be a part of this dynamic organization!
All Freshmen! All Sophomores! All Juniors! Elections for Student Council & Class Officers will be Tuesday, May 17th. Speeches will be held in the morning and the elections will be held at lunch. To be eligible to run for Student Council or Class Officer you MUST ATTEND a meeting TODAY outside the auditorium BEFORE school, during BOTH lunch shifts, or AFTER school. This is a MANDATORY meeting to pick up packets and get questions answered. If you have any questions, please see Miss Maloney.
Sophomores Class Rings will be delivered Tuesday, May 10th during both lunch shifts in the commons.

Tonight at 7pm, the Student Film Club is having their Spring Premiere Night right here in Springfield High. We will be showing a few short films and our first hour-long film "Paper Airplane", followed by an awards ceremony. Come join us for laughs, entertainment and great films for free on Friday. DVDs will be available starting the night of the premiere, and afterwards online. Hope to see you there!

Students interested in being a part of the Springfield High School Scarlet Line Dance Team are invited to Open Practice today from 4:00-5:00 in the SHS Annex. Alternates for the 2011-2012 season will be selected at that time.
A key fob only was found in the student lot yesterday morning and a necklace was found in the auditorium Wednesday both were turned into the main office. Stop by to identify.
