Attention all students: If you are interested in taking Mandarin Chinese at SHS, please stop by the Guidance Office to pick up an informational flyer. There will be a parent meeting at the board office on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Don't miss this exciting opportunity.
Spanish club will have a preview meeting after school tomorrow in the commons. Your application, signed drug/alcohol policy and $7.00 fee are due no later than 3:30 Friday, September 9th to a Spanish teacher.

You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. A complete list of the representative visits is posted in the glass case outside of Guidance as well as on the school website under the GUIDANCE link.

SENIORS: Tomorrow during your English class period Mr. Williams and Mrs. Povse will meet with you to discuss college application procedures, college visit days, scholarships, financial aid, NCAA, important dates, etc.
JUNIORS: ON SEPT. 13 during your English class period Mr. Crum and Mrs. Povse will meet with you to discuss college search, college visits, college and military recruiter visits, testing, GPA, class rank, NCAA and much more.

Hey Hey JSA! We will be having a debate today in room 330! We will be debating whether or not President Obama will win a reelection in 2012! We will also be talking about upcoming activism projects for this year. Come for food, fun and bring your friends!
Attention class of 2014. Your class officers are having a bake sale at the homecoming tailgate to raise money for your senior prom!! We need volunteers to help make cookies, brownies, and rice crispy treats. If you are interested in donating any of these items, please see an officer to sign up.
The sophomore class will be selling Pizza Hut Breadsticks tomorrow! Three breadsticks and sauce will be sold for a low price of $4.00 for one pack. A limited amount of breadsticks and sauce will be available tomorrow on both lunch shifts, so get there as soon as possible!
Attention German Club! We will be having a meeting after school today to plan for the kick-off party on Sunday, September 11th. Please make sure you come to the meeting if you are planning to attend the kick-off party. Deadline for the membership fee of $8 and the no-alcohol and drug policy form is due by 3:30 PM this Friday, September 9th.
SITE Club is holding its first meeting Thursday after school in room 133. We are looking for students interested in programming and robotics. See you there.
Any Sophomore or Junior interested in taking the PSAT need to come to the Guidance Office and sign up. The test will be given Wednesday, October 12th during periods 1-3. The deadline for registering in September 22nd. There is a $17 fee (cash or check payable to Springfield High School).
