A reminder we are on early dismissal bell schedule Today for the Homecoming Pep Assembly at 2:25 PM.

There will be both regular detention and mega detention held today AFTER the assembly.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: THE FOLLOWING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES WILL HAVE REPRESENTATIVES HERE TO SPEAK WITH YOU ABOUT THEIR SCHOOLS:

Sept. 29 Monmouth College-Lunch
You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. A complete list of the representative visits is posted in the glass case outside of Guidance as well as on the school website under the GUIDANCE link.

Yale University is coming to SHS: A representative from Yale University will come to SHS on Monday, Oct. 17 for an evening informational presentation from 7-8:30 in the auditorium. Mark your calendars.

Any Sophomore or Junior interested in taking the PSAT need to come to the Guidance Office and sign up. The test will be given Wednesday, October 12th during periods 1-3. The deadline for registering in September 22nd. There is a $17 fee (cash or check payable to Springfield High School).

Buy your dance tickets TODAY- $8 for single and $15 for Couple. If you wait until the dance then it is $15 per person. If your guest does not attend SHS you will need to pick up a Guest form in the Main office or Guidance office. You must present the completed form along with ID’s at the dance. Remember, attire is semi-formal. NO DENIM. NO TENNIS SHOES OR SANDALS. NO SHORTS.

FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Sep. 27, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch, before school, or after school in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Monday, Sep. 26. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the auditorium at your convenience. Please donate. Mrs. Fisher, in the Main Office, is LIVING Proof that blood donations SAVE LIVES! She received 3 units of blood through two life-saving transfusions! Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

Be A Senator will be selling Rally Towels for $5 during both lunch shifts in the commons!! Get your Rally Towel to wave at the Homecoming Football game!! Lets go Senators!!!

SHS Speech & Acting Team: Speech and Acting Team Event Placements are finally here! Don't forget to stop by room 362 to sign up for a time slot for speech and acting team event placement on Monday the 19th or Tuesday the 20th after school.

Attention Class of 2014! If you volunteered to bake an item for Tailgate Saturday, please drop off the individually packaged items to Room 262 on Thursday. Thanks for your help!

Attention SHS: the class of 2013 will be selling delectable Westwoods Wings for lunch today in the commons! That's right! Westwoods Wings for sale at lunch TODAY in the commons! Yummy yummy yummy!

Attention all baseball players not playing a fall sport: There will be a meeting Today after school outside of the weightroom for those interested in off season conditioning. That's baseball players, conditioning, Thursday right outside of the weightroom after school. Any questions see coach in room 166.

Students who purchased a homecoming shirt can pick them up in room 370! Get them to wear to the game Saturday. There are a few extra shirts available for $14 in room 370.

The Volleyball team lost 25-23, 20-25, 25-23 to Normal West last night. Lindsey Buhnerkemper tallied 14 assists and Morgan Ceja 10. Courtney Pence led with 17 kills, 12 digs, 9 service points, and an ace. Meghan Fetter had 7 kills and Emma Range 6 kills. Come cheer on the girls this Saturday at SHG at 11 AM before tailgate.
