JUNIORS AND SENIORS: THE FOLLOWING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES WILL HAVE REPRESENTATIVES HERE TO SPEAK WITH YOU ABOUT THEIR SCHOOLS:
Today Quincy University - Lunch and Yale University - 1:40 p.m.
Oct. 18 Southern IL University - Carbondale - 8:30 a.m.
Oct. 20 St. Ambrose - 9:30 a.m.
Oct. 25 Culver Stockton 8:30, North Central 12:45, Midwest Technical Institute Lunch
Oct. 26 Vanderbilt 9:30, Midwest College of Cosmetology Lunch
Oct. 27 Northwest Missouri State Lunch
You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. A complete list of the representative visits is posted in the glass case outside of Guidance as well as on the school website under the GUIDANCE link.

Reminder: A representative from Yale University will be holding an informational meeting for students and parents tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

Permission slips for the October 19 SIU-Carbondale bus trip are due TODAY. If Mrs. Povse does not have enough permission slips by the end of the day on Monday the trip will be cancelled.

The Book Fair is here in the library this week! Be sure to stop by and check out the great selection. The Book fair will
also be open during Parent/Teacher Conference times.

Seniors interested in applying to Eastern Illinois University for Free:
On November 17 an admissions representative from EIU will be here to conduct a live admissions program. Have your application, essay, transcript, (and letters of recommendation if needed) and your application will be processed on the spot FOR FREE. No application fee! You will be notified of your acceptance that day. See Mrs. Povse for additional details.

Attention all JSA members: those who plan on attending Fall State - your permission slips and money are due by Wednesday.

SHS Idol auditions will be held in the choir room October 19 starting right after school. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Elmore in the choir room. SHS Idol will take place on November 15 at 7 PM in the auditorium.

Permission slips for Spanish Club’s wiener roast are available from the Spanish teachers and are due by 3:30 October 19th.

The Class of 2014 will be selling delicious Papa John's Breadsticks this Thursday! Three breadsticks and sauce will be sold for a low price of $2.00. A limited amount of breadsticks and sauce will be available this Thursday on both lunch shifts, so get there as soon as possible!

Anime Club: Planning meeting today, after school, for the dance in Room 160 at 3:30.

Ebony Gems: Please attend tonight's meeting at 6pm-Strike and Spare West.

The Cross Country team competed in the CS-8 conference meet on Saturday. The Varsity Girls Team finished 1st. Kirby Hale finished 1st and set a course record for 3 miles in 17:40. In the Girls JV race, Lauren Smith was top finisher for SHS. The Varsity Boys team finished 1st. Sam Cross was the top finisher for SHS. In the Boys JV race, Amir Rasmussen was the top finisher for SHS.
