Seniors interested in applying to Eastern Illinois University: Your applications and essays are due to Mrs. Povse on Thursday, Nov. 10. The Eastern admissions representative will be here next Thursday, Nov. 17 to admit you.

The following scholarships are now available from J.P. Morgan Chase Bank: Henry Bunn Memorial Scholarship for college bound students who need financial assistance; the Polly Roesch Vocal Music scholarship and audition information for students majoring in vocal music; the Skelton Scholarship for students who need financial assistance to attend a 2 or 4 year college or a specialized vocational training program; and the Davey Scholarship Loan Program. See Mrs. Povse for applications.

If you are a Senior student interested in attending Davidson College, please see Mr. Williams today by the end of the school day.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois are offering $1000 scholarships for students with financial need.

Seniors applying to Illinois State University: the priority filing date for ISU is November 15th. Students should have their transcript envelope to Mr. Williams by Nov.10th to ensure post-mark by Nov. 15.

CACC students: Your Quarter 1 grades are now in. If you would like a new report card printed, please see Mrs. Esela in the Guidance Office.

Seniors: If you want to be pictured in the amazing 2011-2012 yearbook, make sure you get your photo taken by Grussenmeyer/Class Act by December 20th. Sign up on the sheet outside the main office to have it taken when Grussenmeyer comes to SHS on November 30th, or call them at 217/787-6688 for a studio appointment. The sitting fee is $15.00

The 3rd annual Dodge Ball Tournament hosted by the Booster Club will be on Thursday, November 10th at 6:30 PM in the SHS gymnasium. Registration and waiver forms are available in the main office. A sign-up table will be available during lunch next week. Cost is $30 per team in advance, $35 at the door.

High Pride- If you ordered a shirt please see Mr. Reed in room 228.

Student Council is asking for ideas for the City T-shirts that are sold for the City Basketball games. If you have an idea or drawing then please see Miss Maloney or drop it by the school store on either lunch shift by Wednesday, November 16. The student with the winning design will receive free t-shirts.

Attention all 10th graders, if you have not taken behind the wheel yet you need to stop by Ms. Dvorak’s room 128 and schedule a time slot. Please do this before school or the last 5 minutes of lunch A or lunch B.

There will be a meeting for all interested boy swimmers AND their parents in the SHS Commons on Monday, November 14 at 7 PM.

Students and staff: If you purchased a yearbook last year, you can now pick up your spring supplement! You may pick them up today in the Commons during A and B lunch or after school in Room 370. At this time you may also purchase a 2011-2012 yearbook for $50; by either cash or check. Get your supplement and yearbook NOW!

SITE Club is meeting, November 14 in Mrs. Fox’s room. Come for robots, food, and more!

Anyone interested in trying out for the wrestling team should see Coach Nesbit as soon as possible or show up after school in the wrestling room.

Peter Bremhorst, Ben Harbison, Zabian Morris, Andy Pedraza, and Dalton Timm, were named to the Central State 8 All-Conference team. Alex McHatton and Zach Triebe received Honorable Mention in All-Conference.

Attention Spanish Club Members: Come play Capture the Flag against the German Club on the 17th, that’s next Thursday. Sign up today in room 214 after school. We need 10 Seniors/Juniors and 10 Freshman/Sophomores to play. First come, first served. Please bring $2.00

It’s now time for a dress code check. Teachers, if you see any students with sagging pants, pants with holes, inappropriate shirts, exposed cleavage, short skirts or shorts, leggings or yoga pants with a shirt that is too short, coats, book bags, string bags or large purses. Please write a dress code referral and call for a security escort.

Students, please make sure that we are following all parking ordinances and rules when you are parking on city streets. Thanks for your cooperation.
