Juniors and Seniors: The next college bus trip will be to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston on December 8. Permission slips are available from Mrs. Povse or in the Guidance Office. The bus will leave at 7:45 and return by 3:30.

The following scholarships are now available - J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Henry Bunn Memorial Scholarship for college bound students who need financial assistance; the Polly Roesch Vocal Music scholarship and audition information for students majoring in vocal music; the Skelton Scholarship for students who need financial assistance to attend a 2 or 4 year college or a specialized vocational training program; and the Davey Scholarship Loan Program. See Mrs. Povse for applications.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois are offering $1000 scholarships for students with financial need.

Have you contributed to Illinois Natural Resources throughout high school? If so, you can apply for a scholarship through the Illinois Conservation Foundation.

The Plato and Flora McCourtney Foundation scholarship for students majoring in a technical or scientific field is now available. This is a renewable $3000 award. See Mrs. Povse for scholarship applications.

Seniors: If you want to be pictured in the amazing 2011-2012 yearbook, make sure you get your photo taken by Grussenmeyer/Class Act by December 20th. Sign up on the sheet outside the main office to have it taken when Grussenmeyer comes to SHS on November 30th, or call them at 217/787-6688 for a studio appointment. The sitting fee is $15.00

Student Council is asking for ideas for the City T-shirts that are sold for the City Basketball games. If you have an idea or drawing then please see Miss Maloney or drop it by the school store on either lunch shift, today is the last day. The student with the winning design will receive free t-shirts.

Attention Spanish Club Members: Your fundraising forms are due by 3:30 Today. Please help us make this year’s fundraiser the best ever. Cash prizes for top sellers!

All Seniors interested in applying for the JP Morgan Chase $10, 000 scholarship, must attend mandatory meeting on Thursday at 8 AM, both lunch shifts, or after school at 3:20 in the auditorium Thursday, November 17. If you cannot make it, see Ms Maloney BEFORE Thursday in room 124.

Anyone interested in pre-season workouts for Girls Softball meet in the weight room by 3:45 Wednesdays and Fridays. If you have any questions, contact Sarah Waldman.

Attention Seniors: There will be a Senior Meeting with Jostens on Tues, Nov. 22: Period 2 = girls & Period 5 = boys & CACC students. You must report to class for attendance purposes.

The Lady Senator basketball team started the year out with a bang by beating East Peoria 75 to 20. Leading SHS in scoring was Zahna Medley with 20, Anika Webster had 14 and Meghan Fetter chipped in with 10. Next up for SHS is a game Friday at Metamora.
