JUNIORS, now is the time to be checking out these schools, hearing about requirements and deciding where you want to visit. Get a pass from Guidance or Mrs. Povse to attend.

Applications for the Lincoln Land Community College foundation scholarship are now available. The LLCC honors college application is also available for students who have a minimum ACT score of 25. These are due April 2. The deadline for the Focus on Your Future Scholarship for LLCC, Robert Morris, UIS or Benedictine has been extended to Feb. 10.

Reminder to seniors and their parents/guardians: Today at 6:30 in the Commons is our FAFSA line-by-line presentation. If you are having trouble filing the FAFSA or need a jump start, please attend this workshop.

TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP! Purchase your tickets for a full Avanti's sandwich and or a full Avanti's loaf of bread through tomorrow from a German class or German club student. Teachers and staff can purchase tickets from Eric Koeppel unless a German student sells to you first. Delivery is Thursday, February 9, during both lunch shifts and after school til 4pm in the Commons. There will be a limited number of extra sandwiches and bread available for purchase during lunch shifts on February 9. Alert your friends, family, and colleagues! The English department’s literary magazine needs an editor. Interested? Contact Mrs. Eslahi in room 254.

Visions and Voices the English department’s literacy magazine wants to publish your short stories, poetry, and art. Bring them to Mrs. Eslahi in room 254.

As of February 1st, bus ticket will go up to $20 dollars instead of 15 do to the $.25 increase. There are 9 left for $15 in room 169.

The Do Something Club is supporting the "Teens for Jeans" campaign sponsored by Aeropostale. The campaign is designed to get jeans in the hands of THE HOMELESS! Students & staff can donate any old jeans of any brand or any size for each pair of jeans you donate you receive a 25% off coupon for new AERO jeans! We are competing as a school in a nation-wide contest whereby the school with the most jeans wins $5000 & JEANS FOR EVERY STUDENT! Drop-off boxes can be found in each school office or main entrance. National Honor Society: There will be a meeting today right after school in the library. The NHS meeting for Wednesday will be held in Room 160.

During African-American History month, we are “Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Oprah Winfrey” JOIN US! Write an essay. Make a poster. See the ads in the hallway. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.

Attention Baseball Players: There will be a short meeting Wed. after school in the commons for all young men planning to play baseball that are not out for a winter sport. See Coach in room 166 if you cannot attend. That's a baseball meeting, Wed. after school in the commons.

Only one week left to buy your valentine a carnation. They can be purchased in the commons before school and during both lunch shifts and will be delivered next Friday, February 10 during 3rd and 5th hours. If you have questions please see Mrs. Devlin in room 112 before school.

Listen up Sophomores & Juniors! CACC Spring Open House is Tuesday, February 7th from 5 “ 7 PM. Come out to the center to explore exciting electives you can take as juniors and seniors! We offer 20 different classes with opportunities ranging from Auto Mechanics to Culinary Arts. See your Guidance assistant principal with questions.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2013: Customized t-shirt orders are in! Pick them up in room 352 after school.
