Memorial Medical Center has a Teen Volunteer Program June 18-August 10. The program is limited to 20 students, juniors and seniors. Application, 2 letters of recommendation, a health questionnaire and brief essay are due before April 27. Interviews will be May 29- June 5. Mandatory Orientation is June 14 if you are selected. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse or Mr. Crum.

Packets for students interested in trying out for the Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleading squads for the 2012-2013 seasons are now available in the Main Office. There will be a mandatory tryout meeting tonight at 5:30pm in the SHS commons. Tryouts will be held April 16th-21st. Any questions contact Coach Povse in room 160.
Tryouts for the 2012-2013 SHS Poms will be held at Springfield High School the week of April 23rd - 27th. Clinics will begin around 4:00 p.m. and will dismiss at 6:00 p.m. Clinics are closed to spectators. Tryouts will be judged on Friday, April 27th. More specific details will be discussed on April 23rd with the team candidates. Application packets are now available on the Springfield High School website or in the SHS main office. Newly inducted NHS members are to meet in Miss Hubbard's room today right after school for instructions on getting your service hours. The meeting will be very short but is mandatory.

Attention Seniors - Signed Permission Forms & $30 are due TOMORROW, Thursday April 12, for the Senior Trip to see the 7 & Senators singing the 7th inning stretch at the Cub/Cardinal game in St. Louis on May 15. The first 160 senior students who complete the following requirements will be allowed to attend the game. Requirements are: *Return completed permission form by Thursday, April 12, *Pay $30 for bus and ticket to the game, *Must have no more than 4 unexcused absences for the 2nd semester, no more than 4 referrals for the 2nd semester and no suspensions for the school year. Seniors can pick up applications and pay for their tickets during both lunch shifts on Today in the Commons.

The fresh/soph Boys track team finished 3rd at the Solon Lion open last night. Event champions were: Tyler Owens in the 800, and Grant Luebkemann in the 1600. The varsity Boys track team finished 2nd at the Solon Lion open last night. Event Champions were: James Brown in the shot put, Sam Cross in the 800, Jason Kokkat in the 3200, and the 4x400 relay team of Will Butler, Joe Gough, Junious Matlock, and Jim Moore. The boys next compete on Friday at the Centralia Invite.

The Girls Soccer team improved to 9-1-1 with a 2-1 victory over SHG. Bri Hickman and Anika Webster scored for the Senators. The JV team played to a 1-1 tie. Emily Willard scored for the Senators.
