NHS seniors, time is running out to purchase your Golden Laurel Banquet tickets for your family and friends. See Mrs. Fisher in the main office, or Mrs. Hubbard and Ms. Elmore to purchase your tickets by May 2. They are $12 each. Remember, that NHS members do NOT have to buy a ticket, you attend for free!

Attention Seniors! In homeroom you should have received a Senator Newspaper Senior Survey. Please fill this out and get the chance to be in this Senior Issue of the Newspaper. Fill out and turn into Ms. Negele’s room, room 362 by TODAY.
Student board member applications for the 2012-13 school year are now being accepted and are available in the main office. Student must meet the following requirements to apply for the position of Student Board Member:
• Be an incoming Senior at a Springfield Public Schools’ high school for the 2012-13 school year
• Have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher
• Submit a one-page biographical sketch (double-spaced) outlining the student’s abilities, goals, and reasons why he/she is the best good choice as a Student Board Member
• Provide two written references from teachers, school administrators, or community members
• Provide contact information including phone number and/or e-mail address.
Deadline for submission of materials is May 25, 2012. Materials should be submitted to Mr. Grossen
Attention all foreign language clubs! We will be playing Capture the Flag on Tuesday, May 1 from 6-8 p.m. Pizza will be provided as well. Sign-ups will take place after school Today, Thursday, April 26, and Friday, April 27. Space is limited to 10 members per language. Sign-up with your respective language club and bring $2 to reserve your spot. Questions? See your foreign language teacher.
There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Thursday, April 26 for all freshman, sophomores and juniors interested in running for Student Council or Class Officer. The meeting will be in the auditorium at 8:00, both lunch shifts and after school at 3:17. The meeting is only that day. You must attend 1 of the meetings to participate in the election. Don't miss your chance to get involved and make a difference. If you have any questions, please see Miss Maloney in Room 124. See her BEFORE the meeting- not after. Again- MANDATORY MEETING on Thursday, April 26 for anyone interested running for Student Council or Class Officers.
The Lady Senators Track and Field Team overcame a 30 point deficit by winning the last three events to win the Chatham Co-ed Invitation Friday night. Finishing first for the Lady Senators were Maggie Cornelius in the 3200, the 4 x 800 team of Ellie Hamill, Christina Kropid, Christy Rolf, and Kirby Hale. Kirby Hale in the 1600, Michaela Pattie in the 200, the 4 x 400 team of Kirby Hale, Chrisitna Kropid, Miriam Agamah, and Maddie McCarty. Key second place finishes were Lindsay Teeter in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Pattie in the 100, McCarty in the 400, Cornelius in the 1600, Kropid in the 800.
