Good morning Springfield High! Today is Monday, May 21 where successful Senators are appropriate: they use appropriate language, tone and volume and follow the school dress code. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Did you buy your yearbook? Do you still want to buy one? You can pick one up or buy your yearbook for $60 CASH in Ms. Barkmeier’s room 370, before school, at lunch, during 4th hour, 6th hour, or after school.

Freshmen, Sophomores, & Juniors-have you ever heard of Key Club International, a community service-oriented organization? There will be a 5-minute informational meeting in the cafeteria at 3:25 pm Today, immediately after school to get a feel for how many students are interested in joining the club. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mr. Williams during your lunch hour.

The Boys track and field team finished in 5th place at the Belleville West 3A Boys sectional on Friday night. State qualifiers for SHS were: Dalton Timm in the 100 and 400, Malik Harrison in the 400, James Torgerson in the Shot Put, The 4x400 Relay team of Nick Howell, Sam Cross, Malik Harrison, and Peter Bremhorst; The 4x100 Relay team of Nick Howell, Peter Bremhorst, Malik Harrison, and Dalton Timm; and the 4x800 Relay team of Sam Cross, David Sias, Patrick Fitzgibbon, and Nathan Hoffman. Sectional Champions for SHS were the 4x800m Relay team, and Dalton Timm in the 400. The 4x100m Relay team also broke the school record! The boys next compete at the state meet Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Senators 4 x 400 team of Kirby Hale, Christina Kropid, Maddie McCarty, and Miriam Agamah set a new school record of 3:56.83 in the prelims of the Illinois State Track Meet Friday. In the finals Saturday they finished 7th in the 4 x 400 and earned all state honors. Congratulations ladies for a great season.

The Girls Soccer team claimed the regional title with a 3-1 victory SHG. Julia Rosen and Bri Hickman scored for the 17-5-1 Senators. The Girls play Carbondale Tuesday in the Troy Sectional.
