Get a pass in Guidance or from Mrs. Povse to attend the presentations that occur during class times.

Juniors and Seniors: Mark your calendars and tell your parents that our first Financial Aid Presentation will be Nov. 28 at 6:30 in the Commons.

ALL STUDENTS: Check the Guidance / Special Programs page often to find opportunities of interest.

SENIORS: If you are planning to major in computer science or electrical engineering, have a 3. GPA and a 25 ACT, you should check out the Stokes Educational Scholarship on the scholarship database on the guidance webpage.

SENIORS: The Susan Cook House Student of the Month/Student of the Year Scholarship, a $10,000 award will be given again this year. Seniors who are academically strong and who have school, community and leadership involvement should get an application at an informational meeting next Tuesday, Oct. 23 on both A and B lunches. Come to room 150 at the beginning of your lunch shift to get this important information.

The first college bus trip of the year is scheduled for Nov. 1. We will be going to Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Get a permission slip in Guidance or from the mailbox on Mrs. Povse's office door(Room 153A) These permissions must be returned to her by the end of the day Tuesday, Oct. 23. The first 35 qualified students to turn in permissions will be selected to go. This is the longest of the college trips. The bus leaves at 7:00A.M. and returns at 5:30P.M.

Attention: Boys interested in swimming this winter need to attend a MEETING with their parents in the Commons Tonight at 7 PM. If you have any questions, please call Coach Stephens at 546-2603.

The Scholastic Book Fair is here this week Oct. 22-26. Stop by and see what's new in books. The book fair will be open during parent-teacher conference hours. All proceeds go to support the author visit in January.

Be A Senator 2 prime parking spots have been drawn, congratulations to Julia Rosen and Marlo Davis.

Attention former BUTLER ELEMENTARY students: If you went to Butler Elementary, please stop by the main office and give us your name by Thursday, October 25. Butler Elementary is working on a special program and would love some past students to help with their students. We'll contact you with more information after we get all the names.

Attention German Club! If you would like to play Capture the Flag against Spanish Club, please come to room 250 after school Wednesday, October 24th to sign up with a $2 deposit.

The Cross Country team competed in the Regional Meet on Saturday at Jacksonville Community Park. The Girls team finished 2nd place and advance to the Sectional Saturday. Natalie Motor was the top placer for SHS. The Boys team finished 1st place and advance to the sectional meet on Saturday. Tyler Owens was the top placer for SHS.

The Volleyball team went 4-1 this weekend and won the Downers Grove North 4A tournament in Chicago. Mady McCarty and Courtney Pence were named to the All-Tournament team. The Senators ended up their regular season at 25-8. The girls will play Quincy in Regionals tomorrow night at 7pm in Alton.

The Boys Soccer team claimed the Regional Championship with a 1 to 0 victory over SHG. The Soccer team would like to thank all the Students and parents for their support. The Soccer team will face Rochester in the first round of the sectional Wednesday 5 PM at Mahomet-Seymour.

Hey Hey JSA. We will be having a final debate party today. We will also be having a meeting Wednesday. Don’t forget to pay your taxes, they are $2. Come for food, fun, and bring your friends.
