Juniors and Seniors: Mark your calendars and tell your parents that our first Financial Aid Presentation will be Nov. 28 at 6:30 in the Commons.

SENIORS WHO PLAN TO APPLY TO EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY: Save your application fee and sign up for Eastern Live. Nick Sanders, EIU admissions counselor will be here November 27 between 10 and noon to interview you, read over your application and accept you on the spot. See Mrs. Povse for a paper application and to get on the list.

The Scholastic Book Fair is here this week! Stop by and see what's new in books. The book fair will be open during parent-teacher conference hours. All proceeds go to support the author visit in January.

Attention former BUTLER ELEMENTARY students: If you went to Butler Elementary, please stop by the main office and give us your name by tomorrow. Butler Elementary is working on a special program and would love some past students to help with their students. We'll contact you with more information after we get all the names.

Attention German Club! If you would like to play Capture the Flag against Spanish Club, please come to room 250 after school today to sign up with a $2 deposit.

Hey Hey JSA. We will be having a meeting today. Don’t forget to pay your taxes, they are $2. Come for food, fun, and bring your friends.

First round of football playoffs will be played at Crete-Monee on Sat. October 27th at 6pm. Coach Luke has Playoff T-shirts for sale for $15.00 available in the football office by the weight room all week long. Cash and Checks made payable to SHS Football are accepted.

Spanish Club members who want to play Capture the Flag vs. German Club November 1st should sign up after school this week in Room 260. A $2.00 deposit is required and will be refunded to you when you show up to play.

ATTENTION SHS: The class of 2013 will be selling Westwoods Wings this Thursday at lunch! Four wings for $3.00! YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!

Students! Join the SHS Vocal Music group for an exclusive showing of "Hunger Games" at the Legacy Theatre, 101 East Lawrence, on November 5 at 5pm. Enter the costume contest by arriving dressed as you favorite movie character, there will be judging and prizes awarded to the top 3 costumes!! Tickets are $5 if purchased in advance from a choir student or $7 at the door with your school ID.

Attention anyone interested in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes: We will be having a meeting MONDAY NIGHT from 7-8 in Mr. Nesbit's room: room 266. Come for games and a devotion! The next Superintendent Roundtable Commission Group will meet on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1900 W. Monroe in the Boardroom. The meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Attention Seniors and Early Graduates! You must have your school pictures taken by Grussenmeyer Class Act
(787-4947) by December 19 to be in the yearbook. For information, see posters in the hall or come to Mrs. Barkmeier’s room, room 370.

Attention all students! Yearbooks are now on sale for $50 in Mrs. Barkemeier’s room 370, during fourth hour after school. You may reserve your book with $25 down and the balance due in May when the yearbook comes in. After December 19, yearbook goes up to $60.


There will be a wrestling information meeting tomorrow after school in room 266 for all those not out for a Fall sport. Again, Wrestling meeting tomorrow after school in room 266.

The SHS volleyball team beat Quincy, who was 34-1, last night in Regionals by scores of 25-19, 25-18. Courtney Pence led with 11 kills, Meghan Fetter added 7 and Sarah Sepanski 6. Mady McCarty had 23 assists. SHS is now26-8 heading into the Regional championship match tomorrow night at 6:00 at Alton High School vs Edwardsville.
