Nov. 19 Cadet Laurel Neposchlan, a 2011 graduate of SHS, will be in the Commons during lunch to talk about the United States Military Academy at West Point. Stop by her table. A representative from the Marines will also be here.

The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois scholarship is now available to students with financial need. Application at www.ioof-il-org
Seniors interested in teaching: the Leroy and Rachel Cantrall Scholarship, paper application, is now available from Mrs. Povse.
The following scholarships are available: Polly Roesch vocal music major; the Skelton scholarship which is based on economic need; and the Davey Scholarship loan. See Mrs. Povse for these applications.
Juniors and undecided seniors: Western Illinois University has outstanding programs in sports broadcasting, construction management, forensic chemistry, emergency management, law enforcement and justice administration, meteorology, musical theater and supply chain management. If you are interested in these programs get a permission slip in Guidance or from Mrs. Povse for the WIU trip on December 6. Permission slips are due next Wed. before Thanksgiving break.
If you plan on playing sports in college, please attend an important informational meeting tonight from 6:30-7:30 in the auditorium at Southeast High School. This program will be facilitated by Cindy Harris, Associate Athletic Director at Illinois State University and will focus on NCAA initial eligibility requirements. Any high school student/athlete and their parents who have an interest in competing in Division I or II College Athletics are encouraged to attend.
Attention all Students! The German Club Advent Calendars are here! Each them contains fine German chocolate. If you would like to buy one or more for $4 a piece, please talk to a German student or come to room 250. Thanks for supporting German Club!

The United Way campaign at SHS is looking for the class during first hour that can raise the most money to help our school raise money for a worthy cause. Bring in your extra change you have, we will send representatives to your 1st hour class each day to collect any or your loose change. This campaign drive will last until November 20th. The class raises the most money will win a donut party to celebrate.
Greetings National honor society members. Our next meeting is today in the library. The meeting will begin promptly at 3:30.
The 2nd annual Holiday Spirit Wear sale will be Saturday, December 8th from 9:00-noon in the annex at SHS. The latest spirit wear styles and novelties will be available to purchase along with discounted spirit wear from previous years. Free gift wrapping will also be offered. Come on out and support the SHS Booster Club while getting that holiday shopping done. See you there!!
NHS members and ANY student interested in earning service hours, 6 students are needed to help box and distribute food for Midwest Mission Distribution Center on November 17. Please consider this opportunity as the organization is short volunteers. See Mrs. Ruedin, room 360, for information.
If you are interested in participating in No Shave November, please come by and see Mr. Lightfoot or Mr. Telger sometime to donate or take a pledge sheet. If you want to let your facial hair grow out and not get hassled by your mom, at least this month you can say it is to raise money for cancer awareness and research. Also, If you ordered a No Shave November t-shirt, they will be in on Wednesday. Be sure to stop by Mr. Stapleton's room with your $12 after school on Wednesday to pick up your shirt.
