Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, January 31, 2013 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning by all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Admissions representatives from colleges and universities are beginning their spring visits. Sign up and get information about these schools.
Feb. 13- Blackburn College 8:30
Feb. 13- Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) 9:25
Feb. 14- Iowa Wesleyan
Get a pass in Guidance or from Mrs. Povse to attend these sessions.

SENIORS: Mrs. Povse is beginning to post the scholarship dollars you have been offered. If you have been offered scholarship dollars at any school, please let her know. It does not have to be at the school you intend to attend. ANY offer you get she wants to know about. Also let her know where you have been accepted too. Just leave a note in the mailbox on her door.

Sophomores: permission slips are available in the guidance office for the field trip to tour CACC. The field trip will be the morning of February 5 and permission slips are due by the end of the day on February 1.

SENIORS: The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarships for African Americans are now available. Application is on the scholarship database. Deadline is March 1.

SENIORS: The 3 Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority scholarships are now available to: a student attending a historically black college, a student who is majoring in education or a general scholarship. The Heartland Credit Unions Scholarship for credit union members is available. See Mrs. Povse for applications. The Orthopedic Center of Illinois Foundation Scholarship is available to a student majoring in a health-related field. This is a 4 year renewable scholarship. This application is on the scholarship database.

Party lighting, amazing music, food, friends, prizes and a long weekend! It’s EXTREME BOWLING from 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday, February 7, at Strike ‘n Spare West. There’s no school the next day, so plan to stay out late with your friends!! A $10 ticket gets you 2 hours of bowling, shoes and snacks!! Brought to you by the Class of 2016, this event is open to the entire school and lane space is limited, so get your ticket today, and DON’T MISS THE PARTY!!! See Mr. Kramer or a Class of 2016 officer for tickets or information.

ALL Students - Valentine Carnations are on sale. You can purchase them in the commons before school and during both lunch shifts. Cost is $1 and they will be delivered during 3rd hour on February 14.

Crimestoppers will be selling hot, delicious, Papa John's pizza for $2 per slice during both lunch shifts in the commons on Today. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Today, Today, Today!!!

Remember, Today is also SHLotto Redemption day. So get out the cards and redeem them in the commons

Tickets for the dueling piano dinner show are going fast….please let Ms. Elmore or Mr. Kaplan know if you want a ticket. Ticket prices are $25 for dinner and show. The show will take place in the Commons on Feb. 9 at 6 PM. Reservations are due by this Friday Feb. 1.
