Good morning Springfield High! Today is Tuesday, April 30, 2013 where successful Senators are focused, alert, on task, and engaged in the classroom. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Seniors: As you receive your financial aid packages with scholarships please let Mrs. Povse know of your awards so your information can be included on the scholarship charts. PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE MAY 1.

SENIORS: Remember to notify colleges that you are NOT accepting an offer of enrollment. The guidance office is receiving inquiries from various schools. If you know you are not going to a school where you have been accepted, e-mail the admissions office and let them know.

The City of Springfield in conjunction with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will be accepting applications for apprenticeship April 29 through May 10. Stop by the Guidance office for an application.

Girls 16 and older can compete for the Sangamon County Fair Queen pageant. An informational meeting will be held Sunday, May 5th at 2:00p.m. at the Sangamon County Fairgrounds Timberlodge. For more information check the website: www.sangcofair.com

Seniors please return all library books to Mrs. Dahmane before Cap and Gown Day. Cap and Gowns will be held until items are returned. Thanks for supporting the SHS library.

SENIORS: The senior meeting is tomorrow morning. WEAR YOUR COLLEGE OR MILITARY SHIRTS TO THE MEETING. After the meeting you will get your caps and gowns, if all your fines are paid, and then you will make your pennant and put it on the map showing where you will be next fall. Remember to get your scholarship info to Mrs. Povse today.

Senior NHS members: Golden Laurel Tickets are available in the main office for $12 a piece. Please purchase soon if your parents are attending.

If you are interested in a lifeguard training course May 1 - 5 at PORTA pool, please stop by the Main office for more information.

Prom tickets are on sale Today during both lunch shifts in the commons. They will be sold for the next two weeks. Prices are $35 for a couples ticket and $25 for a single’s ticket.

Springfield High's award winning show choir will be having auditions for the 2013-14 school year on May 14 and 15 at 5:30 PM in the choir room. You only have to attend one of the audition days. . We are looking for energetic singers and dancers to represent the very best of SHS. Audition packets will be available in the choir room by the end of the week so please see Ms. Elmore or Mr. Kaplan to get one.

Attention all Spanish club members! This Thursday Spanish club will have a Cinco de Mayo fiesta after school in the commons. There will be a piñata, catering by Qdoba, and a whole lot of fun! See a Spanish teacher for details.

Be A Senator will be selling slices of hot, delicious Papa John's pizza tomorrow during both lunch shifts for $2 per slice in the commons. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!! This will be the last pizza sale for the year so get it while it's hot! We appreciate your support!

Attn. Senators! Thursday is Redemption Thursday! Take your Shlotto cards to the commons during either lunch shift to claim your prize. Remember to put your name and teacher's name on the back because you might win a prize in the drawing on Friday! As always, Thank You for Being a Senator!
