Springfield High's award winning show choir will be having auditions for the 2013-14 school year on May 14 and 15 at 5:30 PM in the choir room. You only have to attend one of the audition days. . We are looking for energetic singers and dancers to represent the very best of SHS. Audition packets will be available in the choir room by the end of the week so please see Ms. Elmore or Mr. Kaplan to get one.
Attention Class of 2014! Want to create the cover and theme for the yearbook NEXT year? Draw up your most creative idea and take it to room 370 by May 25th. There will be a vote on your ideas, and the best idea/drawing will be chosen. Winner will get their idea as the yearbook theme, but also a special feature in yearbook. Get creating!
Attention Students who have not taken Behind the Wheel and will be 16 before December 1st, you may sign up for driving during the summer. Please stop by Ms Dvorak’s room 128 ASAP. There is a limited number of spots.
NHS is hosting a used book sale to benefit the English Department May 17th from 5-7 pm in the commons. Prices range from .50 cents to $2.00 for the books.
Students PLEASE be EXTREMELY cautious when walking to and from school and crossing busy roads. We are getting calls from the public that students are walking right out in front of cars because they are too busy texting & walking and listening to headphones instead of paying attention to their surroundings.
Attention senior girls: Josten's will be in the Commons on Tuesday morning before school to pass out the graduation stoles.
Attention German Club! We will be showing the German movie "Berlin Calling" in room 250 after school this Wednesday, May 15. Please pick up a parent-permission form. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Hope to see you there.
Attention German Club! There are still some openings for our Paintball event with Lanphier's German Club this Saturday. Please come to room 250 after school and sign up with a $20 deposit.
Attention Lit Club! We’ll have our last meeting of the year on Wednesday, May 15th in Mrs. Koen’s room 406. We will discuss the book Article 5 and elect officers for next year! This meeting is important so make sure you come! Hope to see you there!

Exam exemption forms are available in the GUIDANCE office before school, during lunch, and after school. Forms are due back to the Guidance office by Tuesday, May 21.

The boys track and field team placed 2nd overall at the central state 8 conference meet Friday night. Event champions were: Luke Farley in the Long jump, James Torgerson in the shot put and discus, Malik Harrison in the 400, and the 4x800 relay team of Nathan Hoffman, Patrick Fitzgibbon, Tyler Owens, and Heath Warren.
Some items were left behind at prom Saturday night - one pair of shoes, one pair of earrings and one cufflink. Please stop by the Main office to identify.
