Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, August 28, 2013 where successful Senators are focused, alert, on task, and engaged in the classroom. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Reminder we are on the early dismissal bell schedule today.

ALL STUDENTS-
If you are Dropping Classes or Making Class Changes you MUST bring with you, to the Guidance Office, the book of the class you will be dropping. If you do not bring your book you will NOT receive a class change!

Attention German Club! We will be having our first German Club meeting in the commons after school today. If you are planning to join German Club, please make every attempt to come to the meeting. Hope to see you there.

SENIORS AND JUNIORS: Ms. Guerrero and Mrs. Povse will be scheduling orientation for seniors and Mr. Barnes and Mrs. Povse will be scheduling orientation for juniors. Procedures for applying to college, scholarship information, college and military recruiter info, college search & visits, financial aid, credits and transcripts will be among the topics. These meetings will be held in mid-September. If you need information before then please see us individually.

Anyone interested in being a member of High Pride can sign up in Coach Reed’s room 228. It is $10 for membership and a t-shirt.

There will be a free tailgate before the first football game against Lanphier this Friday. High Pride will grill hot dogs. Bring your own drink. Starting time is 5.

This Friday, August 30, we would like everyone to wear red to the football game to promote heart health awareness. Did you know that there are more than 600 muscles in the body? The heart is a muscle and weighs about a pound.

Attention 9th graders and all new students to SHS, you must have a new physical and immunizations on file with Nurse Kim. If you have not turned this information in yet please do so as soon as possible. Also if you take any medications either prescription or over the counter, you must supply the medication and you need a form signed by your parent or guardian and your physician. Please see Nurse Kim in room 167 if you need a medication form.

Fall Play Auditions will be this Thursday & Friday in the auditorium after school until 5 PM. Please come prepared with a 5 minute monologue. The 2013 Fall Play is The Foreigner by Larry Shue.

Attn. Senators! NEXT Thursday, Sept. 5th, is Redemption Thursday!

Attention Class of 2014! It's time to order senior class wear! We have a brand new design for shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies as well as sweatpants! Pick up an order today at lunch in the commons or anytime from Mrs. Taft in room 354 or Mrs. Johnson in room 262. Order forms are due September 11th. Don't miss out!

Any senior student athlete willing to take a 5 minute anonymous survey please see Mr. Koger in room 110.

Do you want to learn how to play chess? Do you already know, but want to become a better chess player? If so, then chess club is for you. Meet with Mr. Sanders in room 360 this Thursday after school.

The Boys Soccer team opened the season with a victory over Lanphier. Nat Cheung, Ryan Vasconcelles, Zephen Merreighn, Logan Willard, Luke Reiser, Argend Gizha, Jake Barrett, Petros Kristos, and Jordan Pacha scored for the Senators and Eli Brower recorded the shut-out.
