Attention 9th graders and all new students to SHS, you must have a new physical and immunizations on file with Nurse Kim. If you have not turned this information in yet please do so as soon as possible. Also if you take any medications either prescription or over the counter, you must supply the medication and you need a form signed by your parent or guardian and your physician. Please see Nurse Kim in room 167 if you need a medication form.

Attention Class of 2014! It's time to order senior class wear! We have a brand new design for shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies as well as sweatpants! Pick up an order today at lunch in the commons or anytime from Mrs. Taft in room 354 or Mrs. Johnson in room 262. Order forms are due September 11th. Don't miss out!

Any senior student athlete willing to take a 5 minute anonymous survey please see Mr. Koger in room 110.

Gondola's are Avanti's famous 16" sweeter bread with salami, ham, American cheese, and lettuce. YUM! Order yours now through Wednesday, September 11. Seniors! Please contact Class Act/Grussenmeyer’s Photography to schedule the sitting for your yearbook picture. There is a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to purchase additional photos.

Any student interested in being a member of this year’s Scholastic Bowl team should attend a meeting after school on Friday, September 6th in Mr. Adkins room 230. The meeting should last approximately 30 minutes. If you cannot attend the meeting but still want to be a part of this year’s team, please see Mr. Adkins sometime next week.

SENIORS: If you are planning to apply to Washington University, St. Louis and want a nomination for the Danforth scholarship(full or partial tuition), please let Mrs. Povse know ASAP. The nominations are due October 15.

Homecoming is just around the corner. Initial voting for court will be held today and tomorrow in the commons both A and B lunch. Voting is only for juniors and seniors. Juniors will vote for two boys and two girls of their choice. And seniors will vote for eight boys and eight girls of their choice. So come out and vote!

Any student interested in taking the Preliminary SAT test, otherwise known as the National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test, should bring $17 to the guidance office to sign up. The first 100 students to do so will receive a free study guide. The deadline to register is Wednesday, September 11th. The test will be given in the Commons on Wednesday, October 16th.

Any junior or senior currently holding a position in student government who is interested in applying the United States Senate Youth Program which will qualify him/her for consideration for a $5,000 scholarship from the Hearst foundation should come to the guidance office for an application.

Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's pizza for $2 per slice during both lunch shifts Today in the commons. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Today, Today, Today!

Today is Redemption Day! If you have received Shlotto cards, please take them to the commons Today during both lunch shifts to redeem them. Do not forget to sign the back of the card! If you do not want to redeem them you can enter them into the drawing for a cash prize to be drawn at the end of the quarter.

You probably know someone with diabetes. If current trends continue, 1 in 3 Americans will have it by the year 2050. This diabetes awareness fact is brought to you by the SHS Band, Marching for a Cause.

Come join Spanish Club today! Enjoy amazing parties, make new friends, and you will have the chance to beat German Club this year in Capture the Flag. It is only $7 to join. Pick up an application from a Spanish teacher in Room 260 or 262. Sign-up begins ends Friday, Sept. 13. The first meeting will be Sept. 18. Can't wait to see you there! Chao!

9th grade students will receive their spring 2013 8th grade ISAT results on Friday, September 6 during 5th hour.

JSA Meeting today after school in Room 330. The debate is resolved: The United States is the only important country in the world. Come for food, fun, and bring your friends.

Chess Club - Don't forget we're meeting from 3:30 - 4:30 in room 360 with Mr. Sanders Today. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or expert, everyone is welcome. See you there.

SENIORS: Ms. Guerrero and Mrs. Povse will be doing orientation with the seniors on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the auditorium. Seniors with last names A-L work program students and afternoon CACC will attend after attendance is taken in 2nd hour. Seniors with last names M-Z and morning CACC students will attend after attendance is taken 5th hour. Orientation will take the full class period. Senior teachers should take attendance at the beginning of each period and then send the seniors to the auditorium.
