Any junior or senior currently holding a position in student government who is interested in applying the United States Senate Youth Program which will qualify him/her for consideration for a $5,000 scholarship from the Hearst foundation should come to the guidance office for an application.

Attention 9th graders you have less then 2 weeks to get your medical records into Nurse Kim & there are still 111 students that have incomplete medical records. If you have received a letter from Nurse Kim please get the requested information back to her asap! All medical records must be complete and up to date by October 15th or you will not be allowed back to school.

Anyone who ordered a High Pride T-shirt can come pick it up in Coach Reed’s room, 228.

Attention students, the 21st Century after school program will be taking registrations for students today in the Commons. Stop the 21st Century table in the Commons to learn about this exciting program.

Best Buddies will be starting this month. However, there will be an informal gathering of any interested students on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Southwind Park. We will be participating in the Land of Lincoln Down Syndrome Society annual Buddy Walk. If you are interested then please see Miss Maloney in Room 124 for a brochure. For $10 you can participate in the walk and receive a t-shirt. If you have questions, see Miss Maloney.

Current CACC Students & their parents! Mark your calendars for CACC Open House on Thursday, October 17 from 5 - 7 PM. Food & Drink will be provided.

On the morning of October 21, Lifetouch will be here in the auditorium to retake pictures. Pick up your form from the counter in the main office.

The Springfield Public Schools Foundation will be hosting a Fall Festival and Book Fair at Barnes and Noble Booksellers on Saturday, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please join Foundation members for a day full of fun including special guest readers, musical performances, "Are You Smarter Than A....." game show and the chance to win a Nook HD! Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase books for school libraries including Springfield High School's library. We hope to see you all there on Saturday, October 12th!

Your Lady Senator Volleyball team won City last night defeating SHG in two games. Thanks so much to the awesome fans who led the team to the victory. The girls need the same fans to come Tuesday night at 7:00 at home against Rochester. It could be for the conference title. Your cheers helped the girls get it done. Great job the the tenacious volleyball girls.

Anyone who plans to walk with Noah Schlosser's team, High Stride, in next weekend's diabetes walk at Washington Park needs to register online by Sunday night, or let Noah know by the end of the weekend. Team t-shirts will be ordered Monday. Again, the diabetes walk is next Saturday, October 12th. Come and walk with High Stride and help Stop Diabetes, one step at a time!

Bus 50 was involved in a minor accident this morning. Everyone is OKAY, but the students will be at least 30 minutes late to school.
