Attention students. If you took the PSAT/NMSQT test in October, and wish to see your results, please find Mr. Barnes in the commons during your lunch shift.
SENIORS: If you are planning to apply to Lincoln Land Community College you can do so in an Admissions Workshop on January 28th, 3rd hour in the SHS library. Our LLCC admissions representative will be here on that day to walk you through the admissions process. Sign the list on Mrs. Povse's or Ms. Guerrero's door before Jan. 22. If you know your major you can mark that and the rep will bring corresponding materials.
The Helen and June Hamilton teacher's scholarship and the William McElroy scholarship for males in pre-med or science are now available on the database. Paper copies available from Mrs. Povse. Applications are not due till April 1.
The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation scholarship is now available on the database or from Mrs. Povse. Deadline is March 3. This is also the application for the LLCC Honors Program.
SOPHOMORES- We will be having a Sophomore assembly on Wed, Jan. 15, during the homeroom period, in the Auditorium. FURTHER details to come.
Also we will be taking a group of sophomores to CACC for a tour on Friday, Jan. 17 in the morning. Signed permission slips must be returned to the Guidance Office by Wed, Jan 15, 3:30pm. Permission slips are available in the Guidance Office. Only the 1st 80 students to return permission slips will attend.
The Young American’s Music Outreach Tour is coming to Springfield January 19-21, 2014. Students in grades 4-12 will work together with the Young Americans in putting together a show that will be held on January 21 at Springfield High School. Registration forms are available from Mr. Kaplan. There are a limited number of spots available.
Attention Seniors: Quarter-zips have arrived! If you did not pick up yours before break, please pick it up from Mrs. Taft in room 354 this week!
Brrrrr! Baby, It's Cold Outside! If you drive to school but have to park so far away your toes are frozen when you get here then you need to buy a chance to win one of the 2 choice BAS spots available for 2nd semester for licensed drivers who have a car and insurance. Chances are $1 and will be sold by Ms. Greco during both A lunch outside room 103 and B lunch in the cafeteria. Winners will get to park in the spot for the rest of the semester and will be notified on Friday. If the winner currently has an SHS spot, that spot may not be transferred to another student.
Any girl not in a winter sport that is interested in playing softball, there will be an informational meeting today after school in room 116. See Mr Koger with any questions.

SHS Spring Musical Auditions for “Legally Blonde” will be held Thursday, January 16th after school in the SHS Auditorium. Auditions, and callbacks, will be held on Friday. Audition music is now available in the SHS Choir Room from Mr. Kaplan. More details about audition specifics will be available next week, so please keep checking the daily announcements and the SHS website for updated information.
The Lady Senator basketball team won a hard fought game last night against Chatham by a score of 40 to 39. Julia Rosen and Anika Webster each scored 12 points to lead SHS in scoring. Next up for SHS is a home game tomorrow night against Rochester in which both teams are undefeated in conference play. Game time is 6:30.
