The Western Illinois University bus trip has been re-scheduled for May 7. A few additional seats are available for this trip. See Mrs. Povse in 153A for a permission slip. Students who previously signed up are good to go.
SENIORS: If you plan to attend Lincoln Land Community College in the fall it is suggested that during spring break you go out to LLCC to take your placement test and meet with an academic advisor. Before doing this you should fill out the admissions worksheet online at LLCC.edu If you have any questions or concerns see Mrs. Povse in 153A before break.
Congressman Aaron Schock will be hosting an informational meeting for the five U.S. Service Academies on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00p.m. at the Springfield Air National Guard. If you are interested in the Air Force, Merchant Marine, West Point, Naval or Coast Guard Academies you should RSVP by April 15 to firstname.lastname@example.org
Juniors. Are you interested in receiving up to 12 college credits prior to graduating from high school? Are you interested in a $2,000 per year housing scholarship for college? Then you may be interested in attending the Commonwealth Honor's Academy. Any Junior interested in attending The Commonwealth Honor's Academy at Murray State University this summer should see Mr. Barnes for more information.
SENIORS: As you make your decision for which college, branch of military, employment or other post secondary plan, please write your decision next to your name on the class directory hanging outside Mrs. Povse's office. Graduating juniors, please sign the list for juniors.
Seniors: On April 23 & 24th, we will be testing all freshmen, sophomores, & juniors. During those two days, you have the opportunity to choose one of 3 Senior Day Activities: College Visits, Job Shadowing, or Community Service. Permission forms may be picked up in the main office, guidance office, or room 169. The forms must be signed by a parent or guardian and turned in to room 169 NO LATER than April 22nd. You must also provide verification that you were in attendance on those days from the college, employer, or organization and turn that in no later than May 2nd to room 169. In order to have your absences on these days to be considered an "Activity" and not count against you for Exam Exemptions, you MUST have the signed permission form turned in no later than April 22nd and the verification papers turned in to room 169 no later than May 2nd. If you do not want to participate in one of these activities, your parent/guardian may call you in to receive an Excused Absence for those days. However, these absences will count towards the absences for the Exam Exemption. If no permission slips are received and no calls are received, the absences will be considered unexcused. Attention German Club! Would you like to go on a German Club trip to Six Flags on Sunday, April 27? If so, please come to the meeting on Wednesday after school in the commons.
The senior class will be selling breadsticks on both lunch shifts Thursday. However, due to an increase in cost, they will be sold at a price of $2.50. This price will still get you a 3-pack of breadsticks and sauce.
