SENIORS: Tomorrow EVENING, MAY 22, IS SENIOR RECOGNITION CEREMONY. During the day on Thursday we are asking seniors to wear a t-shirt with their school's name on it or the branch of service you are entering.
Seniors! Purchase a professional graduation cap and gown photo on Thursday before the awards ceremony. Photos will be taken Thursday night starting at 5:45 PM by Cecil from Class Act Photography. Price forms available in the office today and tomorrow.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is offering a scholarship to seniors who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4. scale. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse. Deadline is June 30.
Phi Beta Sigma fraternity is offering a scholarship to high school seniors intending to attend a 4-year university. Essay topic is "Why is education critical to our communities of color?" Application is due June 30th. Get from Mrs. Povse.

On May 22nd and 23rd, the 2014 Capitoline Yearbook will be distributed after school in the Commons. After then, pick up your yearbook in Mrs. Eslahi's room, 254, before school, at lunch, or after school.
Attention: Students who have a permit and would like to take behind the wheel this summer must come to Ms. Dvorak in room 128 and sign up ASAP. Also freshmen please turn your permit receipt into Ms. Dvorak before the end of May.
Attention students: Exam Exemption forms will be available in the guidance office beginning next week. Please make sure you follow the directions on the forms exactly. There are specific criteria that must be met in order to qualify for exemptions. Seniors may be exempt for up to 3 exemptions, Juniors up to 3, Sophomores up to 2, and Freshmen may have 1. The 3 exemption categories are attendance, discipline, and grades. For further information, please see the exam exemption criteria on the web site.

Springfield Police would like to remind ALL Students, Parents, Faculty & Staff that there is ZERO TOLERANCE for using cell phones while driving. Tickets are being issued. A ticket for using a cell phone while driving is $120. Fines are doubled while in a school zone.

There is a 5k run/walk in memory of Franklin Middle School’s late track and cross country coach, Mr. Flohr. The race is on May 31st in Washington Park at 9 AM. The entry fee is $20 and includes a t-shirt. Forms can be picked up in the main office.
