October 14, 2014

Good morning Springfield High! Today is Tuesday, October 14, 2014 where successful Senators are focused, alert, on task, and engaged in the classroom. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Juniors and Seniors: College and military recruiters will be visiting SHS. Look at the schedule outside Mrs. Povse's office, room 153A or listen to the morning announcements to see if you are interested in attending. These schools will come once in the fall and then possibly again in the spring. If scheduled during a class period you must get a pass in Guidance or from Mrs. Povse to attend. If scheduled during lunch you do not need a pass. The representative will be at a table in the Commons.

SENIORS: If you plan to apply to Eastern Illinois University here's a way you can do it for FREE! The EIU admissions officer will be here on November 18th to do on-site admissions. You will need to get a paper application from Mrs. Povse, fill it out and turn it back in to her. She will set appointments on the 18th with Mr. Sanders. We will have your official transcripts with test scores ready as well. He will also notify you of scholarship eligibility on that day. Save the $30 application fee and sign up with Mrs. Povse now.

Sign up for the Read for a Lifetime program by Oct. 17 and get rewarded for reading the best new teen books of the year. See Mrs. Dahmane in the library for details.

Now's your chance to win a free yearbook! Every Friday in October there will be a raffle contest in the commons at lunch, where you can buy a ticket for $2. There will be 4 winners, one for each class. Don't forget!

High Pride shirts are in. Stop by Coach Reed’s room, room 228, to pick yours up.
