This Friday, November 7th, SHS students will stage a three-performance run of Oscar Wilde’s final play and masterpiece, “The Importance of Being Earnest”. Full of sparkling wit, provocative remarks and with satirical humor at every turn, this truly is one the most loved and enduringly popular plays of all time. The curtain opens Friday, November 7th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Schnirring Auditorium. Saturday’s performance also begins at 7:30 p.m. and closing with Sunday’s performance at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens can be purchased by calling 525-3100 or at the door. All seating is general admission. At a refined bachelor flat trouble is brewing! “Earnest”, is a delirious farce in which two gentlemen, bored with the strictures of Victorian morality, take on the false identity of “Ernest” while wooing young women. Along the way, two young ladies fall in love with “Ernest,” resulting in a hilarious tangle of mistaken identities and sparkling wordplay. The additional interference of a fussy society matron complicates matters even further. Directing the production is senior Janna Schorfheide, with assistant director Kate Moranski. The SHS fall play has the long-standing tradition of being a student led production with the Spring Musical being announced on opening night. Hope to see you there!

Attention girl basketball players: Tryouts tonight from 5:30-8:00. Any questions see Coach Scheffler.

A correction to a previous announcement - any junior or senior interested in playing Varsity boys basketball should come to a meeting on Thursday in Coach Reed’s room. The meeting for freshmen and sophomores will go on as scheduled Tuesday after school. Any questions see Coach Reed.
