Juniors and undecided seniors: It is time once again for the College and Military recruiters to visit. Check the list outside Mrs. Povse's office or in the glass case outside of Guidance. Passes are needed for presentations held during a class period. Get a pass in Guidance or from Mrs. Povse.

Seniors applying for the Plato and Flora McCourtney: a new version of the scholarship in pdf form is now on the database which will enable you to complete it online rather than on paper.

SENIORS: If you have not yet completed the FAFSA be aware that many schools require FAFSA completion by the end of March. Don't miss out on FREE money! If you need assistance see Mrs. Povse ASAP.

Any students interested in taking an AP Test should bring $91 per test to the Guidance Office to sign up by Friday, March 13th. If you have any questions please see Mr. Barnes. Thanks,

Memorial Health System's is sponsoring Teens Experiencing Nursing, a 4 day summer camp from July 13-July 16. 30 area teens will be selected. If you want to job shadow nurses and learn more about the nursing career get an application and fill it out before April 3rd. Applications are online at MemorialCareers.com or from Mrs. Povse in 153A.

PORTA Pool in Petersburg, IL, will sponsor the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Certification Course April 1 through April 6. The course will prepare participants to work as trained lifeguards. Participants must be 15 years old by April 6, 2015, and must attend all class sessions. Sessions will be held on April 1, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.; April 3, 4, and 6, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Cost of the course is $210.00, due at time of registration. Recertification of currently certified lifeguards will be held simultaneously with this course for a cost of $150.00. Attention all Senators!! Be A Senator if recognizing outstanding behavior and acts of kindness by students and staff throughout the building. If you catch a Senator in the act, be sure to write it down on any paper and drop it in the Be A Senator box, located outside the cafeteria. Any questions see Mr. Kramer or Mr. Becker.

Any Juniors: If you plan on Graduating early by the end of THIS school year, please see Mr. Williams in the Guidance Office ASAP.

Students - Please make sure all absences are cleared within 48 hours of your last absence either by having parents call or providing notes from doctors for absences. Students you can log into the cumulative folder to check for any attendance discrepancies. This is just a reminder as we approach the end of the year and final exam exemptions.

PARCC testing will start today for the following freshmen:
Mrs. Taft's first, second, and third hour classes will test in the commons during 2 and 3 hour
Ms. Armstrong's fourth, fifth, and sixth hour classes will test in the commons during 5 and 6 hour
Ms. Valentine's sixth hour will test in room 404 during 5 and 6 hour
Mrs. Taft's fifth hour class will test in room 406 during 5 and 6 hour
Please bring a pencil, headphones, and a book to read.

The Lady Senators Track and Field team finished second at the Jacksonville Indoor Invitational at Illinois College Friday night finishing first for the Lady Senators were Aly Goff in the 800 and 1600, Ozzie Erewele in the 60 meter dash and the 4 x 400 relay of Ozzie Erewele, Aly Goff, Carrie Rolf, and Reilly Stiver. Finishing in second place was Reilly Stiver in the 400 and the 4 x 200 relay of Michaela Pattie, Marissa Pattie, Reilly Stiver and Kyra Webster.

The Boys track and field team placed 4th overall at the Illinois College Indoor Invitational in Jacksonville on Friday night. Top finishers for SHS were: The 4x800 relay team of Jarrett Gary, Nick Sepanski, JD Kropid, and Jackson Esela placed 2nd; the 4x400 relay team of Heath Warren, Jacob Woodard, Nick Sepanski, and Nnamdi Onyewuchi placed 2nd, and Heath Warren finished 1st overall in the 800 meter run. The boys will split this weekend with meets at both Danville, and the Jersey Indoor Invite.
