May 11, 2015

Good morning Springfield High! Today is Tuesday, May 12, 2015 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning by all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

SENIORS: Wednesday is Decision Day!! The Senior Meeting regarding end of year responsibilities, senior recognition night, graduation practice and graduation will be held during the morning. Students will be dismissed to the auditorium after announcements. At this meeting you will elect the representative boy and girl to speak for the class at graduation. Following the meeting you will get your caps and gowns. It will be at this time that you create a flag showing your fall 2015 decision. To where have you committed? A college, the military, employment? You will place your flag on the map showing your DECISION. At this time as well, all the scholarship offers for the class will be on display in the commons. So you have only 5 more days to get that scholarship information to Mrs. Povse. To date the class has $6,432,926.

SENIORS: If you are planning to attend LLCC next year remember to get out there and take your placement test, meet with an academic advisior and register for your classes. The sooner you do this, the better your schedule will be. You can get a College Day Pass in Guidance to do this.

Seniors and Juniors taking college days: Please remember that you need to have any college days approved in advance of your absence, and use a Pink College Day form from the guidance office. White, photo-copies of the pink form will not be accepted. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Barnes, or Mr. Williams.

Exam exemption forms are now available in the Guidance, Main and attendance offices.

Check the Special Programs tab under Guidance on the SHS website for summer opportunities.

Students - Please make sure all absences are cleared within 48 hours of your last absence either by having parents call or providing notes from doctors for absences. Students you can log into the cumulative folder to check for any attendance discrepancies. This is just a reminder as we approach the end of the year and final exam exemptions. The final exam schedule and the exam exemption policy are posted on the SHS website.

The BE A SENATOR 4TH QUARTER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT will be held the week before Finals. The criteria is: no referrals, no unexcused absences, and no tardies.
