Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, August 26, 2015 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

The P4 program, sponsored by SIU school of medicine and Springfield school district, places freshmen alongside medical students and professionals for a rigorous medical school style curriculum and exposing them to physician career possibilities. Applications are due October 2.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS ASSEMBLY will be on “ Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 2nd Hr. 9th grade boys will meet in the Auditorium, 9th grade girls will meet in the commons. 3rd hr. 10th grade boys in the Auditorium, 10th grade girls in the commons. 5th hour 11th & 12th grade CACC students in the Auditorium.

Coach Berger will be opening & supervising the weight room on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The weight room will open immediately following school and will close at approximately 5:00 p.m. Any students interested in athletic lifting can attend but should be aware that no horseplay will be tolerated including the playing of indecent music. If you have any concerns please let me know.

Attention all freshman interested in running for student council or class officers!!! There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, August 27th, before, during and after school to pick up your packets. You must attend one brief informational meeting in front of the Main Office if you want to run.

Seniors- Are you ready to start applying for college and scholarships, but don't know where to start? We can help! Come see Mr. Kyes in room 153A during the afternoon periods 4-7. We have computers available for college and scholarship research!

The following college, Washington University in St. Louis will be visiting Springfield High Monday August 31 at 1:35 and the NAVY- Thursday August 27 in the commons during both lunch shifts

The boys soccer team opened the season with a 6-0 victory over SHG. Nate Cheung, Logan Willard, Adam Powers and Kelby Phillips scored for the senators. Evan Wright recorded the shut-out. Way to go guys!!

Students with schedule issues or changes please sign up at the tables outside of the guidance office & you will be called down by your Assistant Principal in the order in which you signed up. Be sure to list the reason for the issue or change.

Attention all Sophomores, PLEASE TURN YOUR PERMIT RECEIPT INTO MS. Dvorak & be sure to double-check to make sure that you HAVE done this.

SENIORS AND JUNIORS “ the announcement you all have been waiting for:
The Lottery drawing for the remaining parking spots is now open for sign up. SIGN up in the Main office before on your lunch shift or after school by 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday or before school on Thursday. There will be ABSOLUTELY no students allowed to sign up after Thursday, August 27, 3:30pm.
