Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, August 27, 2015 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

ALL 9th grade students MUST HAVE a 9th grade physical on file and all 12th grade students MUST HAVE a meningitis vaccine this year. If you have not turned this information in PLEASE do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to Nurse Kim in room 167, next to the attendance office. If this information is not received you will NOT be able to come back to school after Labor Day and any absences will be UNEXCUSED!

Also anyone that takes any medication at school, uses inhalers, has an epi pen or any other special medical issues please see Nurse Kim to make sure the proper paperwork is on file.

Students are NOT allowed to go to Nurse Kim's office during passing periods. If you are ill you MUST have a pass from a teacher.

The P4 program, sponsored by SIU school of medicine and Springfield school district, places freshmen alongside medical students and professionals for a rigorous medical school style curriculum and exposing them to physician career possibilities. Applications are due October 2.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS ASSEMBLY will be on “ Today, August 27, 2015 - 2nd Hr. 9th grade boys will meet in the Auditorium, 9th grade girls will meet in the commons. 3rd hr. 10th grade boys in the Auditorium, 10th grade girls in the commons. 5th hour 11th & 12th grade CACC students in the Auditorium.

The Class of 2016 is hosting a back to school swim party! SATURDAY NIGHT from 9-11 pm at Colony West Swim Club. Entrance will be $5. Come out and enjoy one last summer celebration with music, friends, and swimming. Colony West, Saturday night 9-11pm.

Attention all freshman interested in running for student council or class officers!!! There will be a mandatory meeting today, August 27th, during and after school to pick up your packets. You must attend one brief informational meeting in front of the Main Office if you want to run.

Seniors- Are you ready to start applying for college and scholarships, but don't know where to start? We can help! Come see Mr. Kyes in room 153A during the afternoon periods 4-7. We have computers available for college and scholarship research!

The following college, Washington University in St. Louis will be visiting Springfield High Monday August 31 at 1:35 and the NAVY- Today August 27 in the commons during both lunch shifts

Boys Golf @ SHG at 4:00pm tonight. Girls Volleyball @ Riverton at 5:00pm tonight Football @ SHG 7:00pm

Students with schedule issues or changes please sign up at the tables outside of the guidance office & you will be called down by your Assistant Principal in the order in which you signed up. Be sure to list the reason for the issue or change.

Attention all Sophomores, PLEASE TURN YOUR PERMIT RECEIPT INTO MS. Dvorak & be sure to double-check to make sure that you HAVE done this.

SENIORS AND JUNIORS “ the announcement you all have been waiting for:
The Lottery drawing for the remaining parking spots is now open for sign up. SIGN up in the Main office before on your lunch shift or after school by 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday or before school on Thursday. There will be ABSOLUTELY no students allowed to sign up after Thursday, August 27, 3:30pm.
