Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, October 29, 2015 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!


Report cards will be distributed Today, 5th hour. Parent teacher conferences are Today, October 29 from 5-8 pm and Friday, October 30 from 8:15-3:30.

The SHS Be a Senator character trait for this month is Responsibility. This week's Senator quote is "With great rights come great responsibilities. To those whom much has been given, much will be asked (time, talent, and treasure)" ~David C. Hill.

Equipment check-in for senior football players has been moved to Thursday after school. There will be new check-in days for all players. Coach Gully will notify you by HUDL text and announcements so please listen daily. Make sure all your equipment is washed and cleaned before you turn it in.

Hooray!!!! The spirit jerseys from the class of 2018 fundraiser are finally in. Please pick up your order today in the commons during both lunch shifts.

There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, November 3, 2015 for anyone wishing to play boys basketball in Coach Reed’s class, room 228. The meeting will start at 3:30.

Me to We scare hunger is Friday at 5:30pm. We will meeting in the commons – please bring totes to carry canned goods.

Picture Retake Day is today in the auditorium. All students who did not have their pictures taken on Sept. 11 should do so then. We will call them down in alphabetical order. Also, the principal has expressed a desire that all teachers/staff have their pictures taken. If you did not do so on Sept. 11, please do so tomorrow.

Students and Teachers…do you know someone who you think deserves a Be A Senator Shout-out for being RESPECTFUL, being RESPONSIBLE, SHOWING GOOD CITIZENSHIP, being CARING, showing SELF-DISCIPLINE, being COOPERATIVE, demonstrating PERSEVERANCE, or being COURAGEOUS? Fill out a nomination form for a Be A Senator Shout-out. Nominations can be found in all offices and on the Be a Senator table in front of the Cafeteria.
Nominations can be turned in to the Be A Senator box on the table or to Ms Hurley in Rm 169. If you have questions, see Mrs Mitchell or Ms Greco.

Senator Wrestling: If you missed the informational wrestling meeting held on Tuesday and you are interested in joining the wrestling team you need to see Coach Berger. Best time to catch him is immediately after school on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. He will be in the weight room or wrestling room.

Coach Gully would like to remind all the players that did not finish the season with the team and got a letter requesting equipment back that today after school is the deadline. Please come by room 124 to turn in your equipment before you are billed for it. Equipment turn in for seniors will be wednesday after school in room 124.

High Pride shirts are in, stop by Coach Reeds room (Rm 228) to pick up your order.

The soccer team advanced to the Sectional Final with a 6-0 victory over Mahomet Seymour. Logan Willard netted 5 goals and Nate Cheung added another for the Senators. Kelby Phillips, Austin Kornack and Jordan Pacha had assists, while Evan Wright recorded the shut-out. The soccer team will play Rochester 11 am Saturday against Rochester.
